On 20 Apr 12 a Monroe County Deputy reported
he was on his way to work when he encountered a motorcyclist
stopped in the intersection of Dye’s Ridge Road and Halls
Road in New Matamoras. The rider, Clint Carpenter, age 29, 12395
County Nine Road, Newport, stated he did not know where he was
and was unable to recall where he’d been. Arriving at
the scene, Deputy McConnell noticed a strong odor of alcohol
on Mr. Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter fell as he pushed his motorcycle
to the side of the road and performed poorly on subsequent field
sobriety tests. Arrested by Deputy McConnell for OVI, Mr. Carpenter
tested .144 BAC at the Washington County Jail.
On 20 Apr 12 Martin Ramage, age 71, 461 Harriett
Street, Macksburg, reported one of his sons removed a safe from
his home the previous day without permission. Mr. Ramage said
his son returned the safe but it was missing over $2,000 and
a large number of his Xanax and hydrocodone pills. This case
remains under investigation (507).
drug trafficking arrest
A search warrant executed late last night by
Agents of the Major Crimes Task Force resulted in the seizure
of 1.45 grams of cocaine, 324 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia
and over $2,000 in cash. In addition to the narcotics found
at 1924 State Route 550, Bartlett, Agents located digital scales
and sandwich bags that are indicative of a drug trafficking
operation. Questioned about the items, the home’s resident,
Christian Sayre, age 31, admitted the drugs and other contraband
belonged to him but denied using the scales to engage in selling
drugs. Despite his denial, Mr. Sayre was arrested on a fourth
degree felony charge of trafficking in marijuana and a fifth
degree felony charge of possession of cocaine.
Sayre remains incarcerated without bond at
the Washington County Jail pending his initial court appearance
this afternoon.

Road, Cutler, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony.
Lucas was arrested at 1924 State Route 550 by Lt. Stackpole
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 12 at 12:40 am.
Christian Edward Sayre, age 31, 1924 State
Route 550, Bartlett, for trafficking in drugs and for possession
of drugs, both felonies. Sayre was arrested at his residence
by Lt. Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 12 at
12:55 am.
Crystal Dawn Seevers, age 28, 614 Cisler Drive,
Marietta, for failure to register a change of address as a registered
sex offender, a felony. Seevers was arrested by Lt. Rhodes at
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 12 at 11:24 am.
Aaron Christopher Goins, age 20, 1340 Patten
Mills Road, Cutler, for driving under a suspended license, a
misdemeanor. Goins was arrested at the Courthouse and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 12 at 12:26 pm.
Gerald Wayne Mistich, age 53, 2317 Broad Street
Apt. 2, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. Mistich was arrested at the office of Probation
Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 20 Apr 12 at 2:15 pm.
Christopher Corey Griffin, age 28, 52301 Rye
Road, Reedsville, for robbery, a felony. Griffin was picked
up at the Pickaway Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff
Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr
12 at 5:00 pm.
Craig Alan Campbell, age 31, 101 Deerwalk Circle
Apt. A, Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Campbell was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Hilverding of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
20 Apr 12 at 5:55 pm.
Jarrod Keith O’Neal, age 27, 1211 Williamson
Avenue, New Matamoras, for a felony charge of forgery and a
misdemeanor charge of theft. O’Neal was arrested at his
residence by Patrolman Freed of the New Matamoras Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 12 at
7:15 pm.
Thomas Allen Bates, age 37, 46955 Seneca Lake
Road, Sarahsville, OH, for trafficking in drugs and for illegal
conveyance of items into a detention facility, both felonies.
Bates was picked up at the Noble County line by Lt. Norman of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 12 at 11:55 pm.
