On 14 Apr 12 a neighbor reported hearing gunshots outside the residence of William Brewer, age 26, at 133 Washington Street, Waterford. Questioned by Sgt. Anderson, Mr. Brewer said an altercation occurred between him and his friends and that he fired his handgun into the ground. Mr. Brewer said the group was intoxicated and arguing and at one point a friend had his girlfriend pinned to the ground. In order to scare his friend away, Mr. Brewer said he retrieved his weapon from his bedroom and fired it. Thinking further of his actions, Mr. Brewer unloaded the gun and had his girlfriend take it back inside the home. The other involved parties corroborated Mr. Brewer’s story and stated they did not wish to pursue any charges because they were friends and were intoxicated. However, Sgt. Anderson arrested Mr. Brewer for handling a weapon while intoxicated and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

Following her poor performance on field sobriety tests, Ms. McLeod was arrested for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Ms. McLeod tested .228 BAC.
