On 14 Apr 12 Deputies responded to an alarm
at Family Dollar at 300 Fifth Street, Beverly. The suspect(s)
broke the glass in the front door to gain entry and unsuccessfully
attempted to open the business’ safe. This case remains
under investigation (610, 707, 912, 1090).
On 14 Apr 12 a neighbor reported hearing gunshots
outside the residence of William Brewer, age 26, at 133 Washington
Street, Waterford. Questioned by Sgt. Anderson, Mr. Brewer said
an altercation occurred between him and his friends and that
he fired his handgun into the ground. Mr. Brewer said the group
was intoxicated and arguing and at one point a friend had his
girlfriend pinned to the ground. In order to scare his friend
away, Mr. Brewer said he retrieved his weapon from his bedroom
and fired it. Thinking further of his actions, Mr. Brewer unloaded
the gun and had his girlfriend take it back inside the home.
The other involved parties corroborated Mr. Brewer’s story
and stated they did not wish to pursue any charges because they
were friends and were intoxicated. However, Sgt. Anderson arrested
Mr. Brewer for handling a weapon while intoxicated and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 14 Apr 12 Carole Stimpert, age 72, 2605
Beach Drive, Belpre, reported sometime overnight an unknown
suspect(s) entered her vehicle and stole approximately $9. A
friend who spent the night at Ms. Stimpert’s home said
$300 was missing from his vehicle as well. This case remains
under investigation (1097).
On 14 Apr 12 a witness reported observing an
impaired driver in the area of milepost four on State Route
821. The witness later noticed the driver, Tricia McLeod, age
43, 208 Center Bend Road, Belpre, parked in a lot and drinking
a can of beer. Deputy Sheriffs Lockhart and McPeek located the
driver in the parking lot and noticed two open cans of Busch
Light in the vehicle. Ms. McLeod had a strong odor of alcohol,
slurred speech and could not stand unassisted. Following her
poor performance on field sobriety tests, Ms. McLeod was arrested
for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail. At the
jail, Ms. McLeod tested .228 BAC.
On 14 Apr 12 an employee of Dollar General,
10270 State Route 550, Barlow, reported a customer attempted
to leave the store without paying for several items. When confronted
by an employee, the customer, Jennifer J. Stover, age 36, 11860
State Route 555, Cutler, removed two cans of dog food from her
purse. At that time the employee also observed baby clothes,
two DVDs and a Wii game in Ms. Stover’s purse that she
did not pay for when she left the store. Consequently, Deputy
Sheriff Day arrested Ms. Stover for theft and transported her
to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Daniel Edward Hendrickson, age 57, 765 Gravel
Bank Road, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication,
a misdemeanor. Hendrickson was arrested on Second Street by
Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Apr 12 at
Jennifer Jean Stover, age 36, 11860 State Route
555, Cutler, for theft and for passing bad checks, both misdemeanors.
Stover was arrested at Dollar General in Barlow by Deputy Sheriff
Day and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Apr
12 at 2:59 pm.
Tricia Dawn McLeod, age 43, 208 Center Bend
Road, Beverly, for OVI, a misdemeanor. McLeod was arrested at
6825 State Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff McPeek and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 14 Apr 12 at 8:20 pm.
