On 30 Mar 12 Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Charles D. Wilson, age 56, 341 Jesterville Road, Parkersburg, for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Mankins stopped Mr. Wilson on State Route 26 near milepost seventeen in Lawrence Township.

On 30 Mar 12 Bonnie Schmidt, age 62, 755 Upper Bear Creek Road, Lowell, reported her brother, Charles Schmidt, age 66, 4450 State Route 530, Lowell, punched her in the face. Ms. Schmidt said the two have been involved in a longstanding argument over the care of their mother and were arguing once again on 26 Mar. Punched three times, Ms. Schmidt said she fell to the floor after the third blow. Mr. Schmidt then bent his sister over his knee and spanked her several times. Questioned about the incident, Mr. Schmidt said his sister bombarded him derogatory comments and had done so on a previous occasion. After that instance Mr. Schmidt said if she treated him like that again he would treat her like a child a spank her. Mr. admitted spanking his sister on 26 Mar but denied punching her. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Holbert arrested Mr. Schmidt for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 30 Mar 12 Deputies responded to a burglary alarm at the Lawnsdale at 2355 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre. Viewing surveillance footage, the Deputies observed a white male entering the bar and exiting less than thirty seconds after accessing the establishment’s safe. The suspect removed two rolls of lottery tickets and over $1,500 from the safe but not attempt to steal anything else. This case remains under investigation (610, 684, 1293).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jericho Lee Pugh, age 22, 1490 Pugh Road, Stockport, for menacing, a misdemeanor. Pugh was arrested on Fifth Street by Patrolman Oliver of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 12 at 12:27 am.

Charles Garrison Haynes, age 34, 113 Catherine Avenue Apt. 1, Monteagle, TN, for .08 breath OVI, a misdemeanor. Haynes was arrested on Gilman Avenue by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 12 at 3:40 am.

Dennis Kay Pugh, age 34, 110 Grandview Avenue, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Pugh was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 12 at 12:22 pm.

James David Gessel, age 49, 8200 State Route 26, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Gessel was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 12 at 4:40 pm.

Charles Ray Schmidt, age 66, 4450 State Route 530, Lowell, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Schmidt was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 12 at 5:45 pm.

Tyler James Boothby, age 18, 200 Pennock Drive, Beverly, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Boothby was arrested at Marietta Mills by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 12 at 7:28 pm.
