On 29 Mar 12 Deputy Sheriff Simmons responded
to the scene of death of an eighty-one year old Marietta resident.
The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes. No
foul play is suspected.
On 29 Mar 12 Deputy Sheriffs Anderson and Mankins
responded to an alarm at the Valley Inn at 533 Zanesville Street,
Beverly. Surveillance video shows an unknown suspect wearing
a black hoodie, black pants and a mask entering the bar with
a pry bar, which he used to pry the bar’s front door open.
The suspect was inside the bar for less than a minute and was
unsuccessful in stealing anything. This case was forwarded to
the Beverly Police Department for further investigation.
On 29 Mar 12 Carrie Huglin, age 39, 305 1/2
Center Street, Beverly, reported sometime between 2 pm and 5:30
pm an unknown suspect(s) entered her home and stole a check
for nearly $4,000 that was sent to her son as part of the Juvenile
Court settlement. Ms. Huglin contacted the issuing bank and
had the check canceled before it could be cashed. This case
remains under investigation (610).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Travis Eugene Sparks, age 29, 709 ½
Charles Street, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor.
Sparks was arrested at his residence by Patrolman McCracken
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 29 Mar 12 at 1:04 am.
Eric Lee Touvell, age 29, 310 Maple Street,
Belpre, for felony charges of burglary and receiving stolen
property and a misdemeanor charge of being in possession of
a weapon while under disability. Touvell was picked up in Guernsey
County and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Mar
12 at 1:52 pm.
Jerry Wayne Caldwell, age 51, 2433 School House
Road, Little Hocking, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. Caldwell was arrested at his residence by Probation
Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 29 Mar 12 at 7:10 pm.
