On 6 Mar 12 Lt. Norman arrested Missy D. Trussell, age 35, Kings Road Lot 8, Parkersburg, for domestic violence. Angry that her husband, James, age 31, brought her to Marietta that morning, Mrs. Trussell was chasing her husband around the intersection of State Route 7 and Browns Road and striking him with a stick. Mr. Trussell had a number of defensive wounds on his hands and arms and his wife had a small cut on her lip from where Mr. Trussell attempted to defend himself. A witness confirmed Mrs. Trussell was the aggressor in the incident.

On 6 Mar 12 Dorothy E. Schaad, age 62, 3981 Turkeyhen Road, Waterford, reported when she evicted two tenants from her rental property at 85 Brooker Road, Waterford, she believes they stole a space heater she purchased for the home. Questioned about the heater, the suspects claimed the item was inadvertently taken when friends helped them move out of the residence. They agreed to contact Ms. Schaad and arrange to return the heater.

On 6 Mar 12 Michael Snider, age 60, 2525 County Road 9, Marietta, reported finding what appears to be an unspent military munition on his property. Lt. Norman took possession of the item ad will arrange for its disposal.

On 6 Mar 12 Jim Grosklos, age 70, 181 Vaught Road, Whipple, reported at some point during the past day an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole a safe from his office. Mr. Grosklos said the safe contained cash as well as personal and legal documents. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 6 Mar 12 a fourteen year old Belpre resident reported being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Zac Wilson, age 19,55 Langtree Drive, Pickerington, OH, at her residence that morning. The victim said during an argument Mr. Wilson attempted to smother her with a couch pillow, struck her several times in the face and choked her with one hand. Also during the argument, two other subjects visiting the home, Sara Hewett, age 27, address unknown, and Thomas D. Lott, age 19, 705 Elm Street Apt. 1, Belpre, repeatedly threatened the victim. The victim said the threats hurled at her during the incident caused her to fear for her safety. Consequently, Deputy Sheriff Mankins requested summonses for Mr. Lott and Ms. Hewett for menacing. Deputy Mankins requested a warrant for Mr. Wilson, who was later arrested in Parkersburg for assault.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Missy Dawn Trussell, age 35, Kings Road Lot 8, Parkersburg, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Trussell was arrested in Reno by Lt. Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Mar 12 at 8:00 am.

Chadwick Lynn Smearman, age 31, 204 Seventh Street, Beverly, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Smearman was arrested at the Adult Probation Office by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Mar 12 at 12:07 pm.

Rikkie Lee Jones, age 31, 920 Schott Road, Waterford, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Jones was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Mar 12 at 2:56 pm.

David Allen Bayless, age 36, 1005 Peggs Fork Road, Newport, for theft, a misdemeanor. Bayless turned himself in to Corrections Officers and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Mar 12 at 4:32 pm.

William Edward Foreman, age 36, 735 Seventh Street, Marietta, for OVI, driving under a suspended license and for unauthorized use of property, all misdemeanors. Foreman was arrested on Seventh Street by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Mar 12 at 7:44 pm.

Timothy Gene Atha, age 53, 4149 State Route 775, Gallipolis, for .08 breath OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Atha was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Mar 12 at 9:20 pm.
