Archive of 02-23-12

On 23 Feb 12 Jessica Lister, age 28, 508 Sixth Street, Lowell, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) removed the rear passenger tire and rim from her 2005 Ford Taurus. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 23 Feb 12 an anonymous caller reported Jeffrey A. Joy, age 41, Harris Street, Newport, was visiting a nearby residence in violation of a protection order. Investigating the allegation, Sgt. Hornbeck observed Mr. Joy standing in the living room at his wife’s home at 109 Lockhart Street, Belpre. In consequence, Sgt. Hornbeck arrested Mr. Joy for violating the terms of a protection order and transported him to the Washington County Jail. Mr. Joy’s wife said he was at her residence to visit their children and did not cause any problems while he was there.

On 23 Feb 12 Billy D. Sturm, age 42, 685 Rocky Point Road, Fleming, reported when he arrived at his residence around noon it appeared his home had been forcibly entered. Mr. Sturm said he noticed three guns were missing along with a digital camera that came up missing from his home last week. Further investigation by Deputy Smeeks revealed the weapons were taken by Mr. Sturm’s teenage son to hide the fact that he stole and pawned the digital camera. The juvenile retrieved the weapons from where he threw them in a wooded area and returned them to his father. As a result, Mr. Sturm declined to pursue charges in the matter.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Kevin Cole Siegfried, age 31, 502 Warren Street, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Siegfried was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Feb 12 at 12:53 am.

Michael Evan Thompson, age 27, 9550 State Route 550, Vincent, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and a misdemeanor charge of theft. Thompson was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Feb 12 at 9:33 am.

Christina Renae Jackson, age 28, 606 Florence Street, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Jackson was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Probation Officer Farrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Feb 12 at 5:35 am.

Jeffrey Allen Joy, age 41, Harris Street, Newport, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Joy was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hornbeck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Feb 12 at 7:20 pm.

Charley Jackson III, age 43, 710 Belrock Avenue, Belpre, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Jackson was arrested at his residence by Detective Staats of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Feb 12 at 9:53 pm.

Coty Genon Chester, age 18, 214 Locust Street, Belpre, for being a military deserter, a misdemeanor. Chester was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Feb 12 at 11:00 pm.
