On 8 Feb 12 Lt. Stackpole investigated reports of an intoxicated driver traveling in the vicinity of State Route 339 and State Route 618. Locating the vehicle with its engine running in the parking lot of the Hickory Grove Market, Lt. Stackpole observed the vehicle’s driver slumped onto the frame of the vehicle’s open door. The suspect, Lisa M. Joy, age 37, 1220 East Branch Road, Lowell, was roused after three attempts by Lt. Stackpole. Ms. Joy stumbled as she exited the vehicle, had bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcohol. Following her poor performance on field sobriety tests Ms. Joy was arrested for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail. At the jail Ms. Joy tested .098 BAC. Ms. Joy was additionally charged with possession of drugs after a booking officer discovered seven Xanax pills in an incorrect bottle in Ms. Joy’s possession.

On 8 Feb 12 Deputy Sheriff Schubert issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Tim Lang, age 33, 135 Indian Run Road, Marietta, for failing to confine/restrain a dog. A neighbor of Mr. Lang reported she was walking along the road earlier in the day when one of his dog’s bit at her and left several small lacerations in her lower left leg. The neighbor said she’s contacted Mr. Lang about the ongoing problem of his dogs running loose but he’s refused to put leashes on his dogs. However, when contacted by Deputy Schubert, Mr. Lang agreed to begin tying up his dogs when they are outside.

The following individual was processed into the Washington County Jail:
