On 2 Feb 12 Deputy Sheriff Schubert issued a minor misdemeanor citation to and requested a summons for Larry Knoch, age 60, 835 Stanleyville Narrows Road, Whipple, for failing to confine/restrain a dog. The previous day two of Mr. Knoch’s dogs entered a fenced area on a neighbor’s property and killed five goats. The morning of 2 Feb an employee at the neighbor’s farm said when he arrived at work he observed one of Mr. Knoch’s dogs attacking another goat on the farm. The farmhand stated after he observed the attack he shot and killed the dog to protect the goat.

On 2 Feb 12 the Wesley Fire Department transported a thirty-one year old Cutler resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to an overdose on the prescription medication, Xanax. The victim ingested approximately fifty of the pills, which an emergency room nurse said would cause the victim to sleep and have a slow heart rate. The nurse stated it was too early to determine if the victim would suffer additional problems as a result of the overdose (507).

On 2 Feb 12 Lt. Norman and Deputy Sheriff Hall responded to the scene of death of a forty-nine year old Newport resident. The man’s death appears to be due to carbon monoxide that was emitted by a portable heater. Though no foul play is suspected, the victim was transported for post mortem examination.

On 2 Feb 12 Julia K. Waggoner, age 31, 2080 Bender Road, Marietta, reported she was involved in a dispute with her fiancé and live-in boyfriend, Jerold L. Little Jr., age 30. Arguing over financial problems, Ms. Waggoner said she was packing clothes to leave the residence when Mr. Little threw a phone at her. The phone missed Ms. Waggoner but she stated she was very scared due to her fiancé’s actions. Mr. Little later grabbed a shotgun and threatened to shoot Ms. Waggoner’s dog but did not point the weapon at her nor did he discharge it. Questioned about the incident, Mr. Little denied throwing anything and minimized his role in the dispute. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Metts arrested Mr. Little for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 2 Feb 12 a New Matamoras resident reported a teacher New Matamoras Elementary School assaulted his seven year old daughter. After interviewing the victim, alleged suspect and eleven witnesses, Detective Johnson and Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier concluded no assault or criminal act took place.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Larry Travis Lang, age 32, 3701 Plum Run Road, Waterford, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Lang was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Schaad of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Feb 12 at 12:12 am.

Bobbi Kelsey Dobbs, age 18, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 1B, New Matamoras, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Dobbs was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Freed of the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Feb 12 at 12:38 am.

Kiera Leonardo Hudson, age 23, 281 Pennsylvania Avenue Apt. 5, Marietta, for a felony charge of improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle and for misdemeanor charges of OVI and failure to signal. Hudson was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Feb 12 at 3:02 am.

Jeffrey Allan Milhoan, age 45, 1214 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, for four misdemeanor counts of falsification. Milhoan turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff Malone and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Feb 12 at 7:51 am.

Stacey Lynn Mixer, age 22, 2110 Miller Avenue, for passing bad checks, felony. Mixer turned herself in to Patrolman Williams at the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Feb 12 at 5:56 pm.

William Ray Adams, age 36, 9550 State Route 550, Vincent, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Adams was arrested at his residence by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Feb 12 at 7:34 pm.

Jerold Lee Little Jr., age 30, 2080 Bender Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Little was arrested on Smith Drive in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Metts and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Feb 12 at 10:11 pm.
