On 27 Jan 12 Wei-Chung Sheng, age 47, 402 Hart Street Apt. 4, Marietta, reported over the past three years he and another individual invested a large sum of money in a new company formed by two Marietta residents that promised a 29% rate of return and a return of their investment in three years. Mr. Sheng alleges the suspects used his investment to pay personal debts and did not fully establish the new company. This case remains under investigation (507).

On 27 Jan 12 Miles L. Luke, age 58, 6460 State Route 821, Whipple, reported a trail camera was stolen from property he owns at 6560 State Route 60, Marietta, sometime during the past week. This case remains under investigation (507).

On 27 Jan 12 Heather D. Berga, age 33, 150 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, reported she departed from home around 7:30 am and when she returned at 5:00 pm she noticed a number of items missing from her home. Ms. Berga said a Nintendo Wii and seven games, a laptop computer, three DVDs, over 400 CDs, a griddle and a bottle of change were stolen. The total value of the stolen items is in excess of $1,500. This case remains under investigation (1007).

On 27 Jan 12 Tammy Putnam, age 40, 3187 Anderson Road, Fleming, reported her ex-husband, Donald D. Marshall, age 38, 29588 Sawyer Run Road, Little Hocking, was in his vehicle outside her home and making threatening comments. Ms. Putnam and her children have a protection order against Mr. Marshall and attempted to scare him off by firing a shotgun into the air. The tactic did not deter Mr. Marshall, who continued to threaten violence, stating he would kill Ms. Putnam and everyone else at her residence. Ms. Putnam said her ex-husband has threatened her numerous times since their divorce nearly a year ago and that the incidents have caused her great fear. Mr. Marshall fled but was located by Lt. Gherke shortly thereafter near the intersection of State Routes 339 and 550. Lt. Gherke noticed an odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle and observed a number of empty beer cans inside it. Under questioning, Mr. Marshall said he and a friend, Ronald Milam, age 57, 29590 Sawyer Run Road, Little Hocking, were driving back roads and drinking beers. Arrested for violating the terms of a protection order and aggravated menacing, Mr. Marshall was transported to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Mr. Marshall tested .088 BAC and additionally charged with OVI. Mr. Milam was arrested as well, charged with consuming alcohol in a vehicle.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Ricky D. Hines, age 50, 271 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for failing to appear to serve nineteen days in jail on 24 Jan 12.

Jason B. McClure, age 32, 2444 Laurel Fork, Alkol, WV, for possession of drug paraphernalia on 10 Jan 12.

Linda M. Minor, age 24, 126 Sycamore Avenue, Moundsville, WV, for failing to appear in court for a change of plea on 25 Jan 12.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Donald Wayne Milam, age 57, 29590 Sawyer Run Road, Little Hocking, for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Milam was arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jan 12 at 2:12 am.

Donald D. Marshall, age 38, 29522 Sawyer Run Road, Little Hocking, for a felony charge of violating the terms of a protection order and misdemeanor charges of .08 breath OVI and aggravated menacing. Marshall was arrested on State Route 339 by Lt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jan 12 at 2:43 am.

Rebecca Lou Sargent, age 21, 1200 Lynch Church Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Sargent was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Farrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jan 12 at 11:35 am.

Eric D. Wright, age 25, 101 Evans Street, New Matamoras, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Wright was arrested on Evans Street by Patrolman Blamble of the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jan 12 at 9:32 pm.

Jeramia Kemp Brandyberry, age 23, 280 Jett Hill Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Brandyberry was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jan 12 at 10:18 pm.
