On 23 Jan 12 Deputy Sheriff Carr responded to the scene of death of a sixty-two year old Lower Salem resident. The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

On 23 Jan 12 Karlee J. Legraen, age 21, 1270 Dalzell Road, Whipple, reported she was pulling into the Pit Stop at 3355 State Route 821, Marietta, when the driver of a Dodge van backed out of the parking lot and collided with the front of her Chrysler Sebring. Ms. Lagraen said the driver of the van, later identified as Brian R. Harris, age 33, 411 1/2 Third Street, Marietta, stated he did not have insurance, called her a vulgar name and fled the scene. The crash caused minor damage to both vehicles (790).

On 23 Jan 12 Richard Carpenter, age 54, 274 Mechanic Street, Macksburg, reported he was threatened by Roger L. Slack Sr., age 66, 288 Ridgewood Court Apt. E, Marietta. Performing household repairs at a friend’s residence at 300 Main Street, Macksburg, Mr. Carpenter said an argument erupted when Mr. Slack arrived at the location to retrieve some of his property. During the argument, Mr. Carpenter stated Mr. Slack threatened to “kill him and put him six feet under” and pointed a shovel at him. Mr. Slack departed the scene before any physical altercation transpired. Deputy Sheriff Carr later located Mr. Slack on State Route 821, arrested him for aggravated menacing and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jason Darrell Hodgson, age 31, 601 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for felonious assault. Hodgson turned himself in to Patrolman Hanson at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jan 12 at 9:50 am.

Shawn Eric Anderson, age 25, 907 Trenton Avenue, Uhrichsville, OH, for aggravated menacing and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Anderson was picked up in Cadiz, OH by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jan 12 at 11:05 am.

Gary Lynn Harris, age 21, 325 Main Street, Lower Salem, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Harris was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jan 12 at 12:20 pm.

Mary Elizabeth McKitrick, age 33, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. B, New Matamoras, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. McKitrick was arrested at the office of Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jan 12 at 1:45 pm.

Roger Lee Slack Sr., age 66, 288 Ridgewood Court Apt. E, Marietta, for aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor. Slack was arrested on Main Street in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jan 12 at 5:35 pm.
