On 6 Jan 11 the Little Hocking Fire Department transported a twenty-three year old Belpre resident to Camden Clark Hospital for treatment to an overdose on the prescription drug, Lorazepam. The victim argued with his father throughout the day and reportedly ingested the pills regularly during the day until he could no longer stay awake. The victim was conscious and agreed to undergo mental evaluation (597).

On 6 Jan 12 a twenty-seven year old Waterford resident reported she received a phone call from an acquaintance that was previously ordered to cease contacting her. The suspect, Jennifer J. Bennett, age 38, 379 Parr Hill Road, New Matamoras, phone the victim and told her that her dogs were at the dog pound. Questioned by Lt. Gherke, Ms. Bennett admitted phoning the victim despite being ordered not to but claimed she only did so because she was concerned for the victim’s dogs. The victim’s mother checked on the animals and found them in the victim’s home. Because Ms. Bennett has a prior conviction for telecommunications harassment, Lt. Gherke submitted a grand jury brief recommending a felony charge of the offense.

On 6 Jan 12 Jeff Parish, age 54, 658 Federal Road Little Hocking reported he believes an acquaintance who visited his home stole his debit card and used it to accrue a total of $355 in charges at four local businesses. This case remains under investigation (707).

On 6 Jan 12 Donna Morgan, age 67, Ripley, WV, reported she was burning brush on her son’s property at 2969 State Route 339, Belpre, when increasingly stronger winds blew burning debris near a storage building. The building caught fire and damaged some property in the building but was extinguished before causing significant damage by the Dunham Fire Department (1090).

The following individual was processed into the Washington County Jail:

Kenneth Alan Folts, age 59, 228 Sheldon Avenue, Marietta, for OVI, breach of recognizance, operating a vehicle without a license and for having operating a vehicle with expired license plates, all misdemeanors.
