On 5 Jan 12 Deputy Sheriff Anderson issued citations to Caleb S. Westbrook, age 29, 1118 Mayle Ridge Road, Cutler, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for being in possession of less than 100 grams of marijuana. While being stopped for not stopping at the intersection of Mayle Ridge Road and State Route 555, Mr. Westbrook threw a small bag of marijuana out the window of his vehicle.

On 5 Jan 12 Frederick G. McKitrick, age 29, 13120 State Route 676, Waterford, reported he was away from his residence for an hour in the early evening and at some point during that time an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole a .22 rifle, a twenty gauge shotgun and an arc welder. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 5 Jan 12 Betty G. Woodburn, age 79, 3755 State Route 555, Little Hocking, reported sometime between 29 Dec and 4 Jan her newly refilled prescription for hydrocodone was stolen from her kitchen counter. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 5 Jan 12 a sixty-four year old Marietta resident reported he was breaking up a fight between his ten and twelve year old grandsons when he believes one of them inadvertently struck him in the back. Interviewing the family members, Deputy Sheriff Carr determined no criminal acts occurred.

On 5 Jan 12 Deputy Sheriff McLeish and the Devola Fire Department were dispatched to a rental property owned by Michael Lazear, age 46, at 23 Garden City Road, Marietta. Mr. Lazear said the home’s tenant had a fire in a fireplace insert that overheated and caused a fire in the chimney. The fire caused minor damage to the wall above the fireplace.

On 5 Jan 12 Jeffrey W. Parrish, age 54, 658 Federal Road, Little Hocking, reported he was holding a vehicle as collateral for a loan he made to an acquaintance and earlier in the day his acquaintance took the vehicle from his property without permission. After conducting additional follow up Deputy Sheriff Anderson will determine if the matter is civil or criminal.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

James Allen Wells, age 40, 28300 Rock Run Road, Coolville, for theft, a felony. Wells was arrested in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 12 at 4:53 am.

Jakeb Michael Bailey, age 21, 4756 Federal Road, Coolville, for failure to appear and for contempt for failing to pay fines, both misdemeanors. Bailey was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 12 at 11:06 am.

Alicia Dawn Fryman, age 28, 117 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for endangering children, for eleven counts of animal cruelty and for seven counts of failing to register a dog, all misdemeanors. Fryman was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Schubert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 12 at 12:37 pm.

Mary Alice Brooks, age 31, 210 Spring Street, Marietta, for two felony counts of theft. Brooks was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 12 at 1:06 pm.

Mark Bradley Pierce, age 31, 307 Cornelius Avenue, Russellville, KY, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, criminal damaging and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors. Pierce was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 12 at 11:13 pm.

Brian Shane Watson, age 44, 228 Calder Ridge Road, Belpre, for OVI, failure to control and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Watson was arrested on State Route 124 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 12 at 11:59 pm.
