On 31 Dec 11 Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested summonses for Douglas A. Hendershot, age 39, 47681 State Route 7, New Matamoras; Dale E. Dalrymple, age 34, 773 Old Beavertown Road, New Matamoras; Charles R. Gump Jr., age 20, 47723 State Route 7, New Matamoras; and a seventeen year old New Matamoras resident for criminal trespassing. The owner of Grimes Sand and Gravel reported the suspects entered his business’ property, which is posted as no trespassing, and were in the process of cutting steel off his boat dock. The suspects claimed the incident was a misunderstanding but the owner said since the suspects were local residents they were well acquainted with the borders of the property. Mr. Gump was also charged with criminal damaging due to the fact that he was cutting steel when the business owner confronted the group.

On 31 Dec 11 Lt. Hornbeck requested summonses for thirteen and sixteen year old Little Hocking residents to appear in Juvenile Court for being unruly. The teenagers received permission from their foster mother to ride their bikes in the area but did not return by the time of their curfew. The two have yet to return to their residence.

On 31 Dec 11 Roxanne Drayer, age 50, 1210 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, reported during an argument, her son, Dakota Lawson, age 18, head butted her in the back of the head. Angry that his mother turned off his computer after he refused to turn down his music, Mr. Lawson flew into a rage. Ms. Drayer said her son cornered her, forcing her to slap him in the face to escape. Confirming Ms. Drayer’s account with a witness, Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested Mr. Drayer for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 31 Dec 11 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued a citation to Shawn T. Wheeler, age 25, 395 Sandhill Road, Marietta, for traveling 67 mph in a 55 mph zone and for operating a vehicle with an expired driver’s license. Deputy Lockhart stopped Mr. Wheeler on State Route 7 near Lockhart Street in Belpre Township.

On 31 Dec 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to Megan J. Newlon, age 21, 2250 Huck Road, Lowell, for driving under an FRA suspended license. Deputy Smeeks originally stopped Ms. Newlon for not having a front license plate near the intersection of Ash and Waterford roads in Muskingum Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Richard Bernard Higgs Jr., age 22, 241 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor. Higgs was arrested on Clinton Street by Patrolman Wright of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 11 at 4:05 am.

Dakota Allen Lawson, age 18, 1210 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, for domestic violence, a felony. Lawson was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 11 at 6:29 pm.
