Archive of 12-30-11

On 30 Dec 11 the New Matamoras Fire Department transported a forty-nine year old Bradenton, FL resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital following a prescription drug overdose. The woman is in town visiting family and reportedly ingested twenty muscle relaxers she purchased from an unknown individual in Florida. The victim’s current condition is unknown (1184).

On 30 Oct 11 an employee of Washington Electric Cooperative reported an electric meter to a garage on Woodruff Road in Vincent was re connected without the company’s permission. The employee said the meter was disconnected for nonpayment in October 2010 and since being reconnected had accrued $829 in unpaid charges. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 30 Dec 11 Lance E. Huck, age 35, 4893 Muskingum River Road, Lowell, reported he was assaulted by a coworker at Uniselect USA that afternoon. Mr. Huck said he and Louis P. Schafer, age 21, 522 Sixth Street, Marietta, disagreed over the placement of a sensor on a conveyor belt and Mr. Schafer became increasingly irate. During the argument Mr. Schafer shoved Mr. Huck and caused him to trip and fall onto a shipping crate. Other employees confirmed Mr. Huck’s statement, prompting Deputy Sheriff Day to request a summons for Mr. Schafer for assault.

On 30 Dec 11 Debra Wheeler, age 48, 395 Sandhill Road, Marietta, reported at some point during the past three days an unknown suspect(s) entered five vehicles on her property. From the vehicles the suspect(s) stole a total of $50, a GPS unit and various CDs. This case remains under investigation (1097).

On 30 Dec 11 Earl D. Griffin, age 35, 2470 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, reported he was repairing his Dodge Ram after it was involved in a single vehicle crash five days earlier when he noticed that it appeared the tie rod on the vehicle was partially cut. The tie rod is part of the steering mechanism and could be the cause of the crash that occurred because the truck’s steering failed. This case remains under investigation (1097).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Zachariah Hayes Meadows, age 30, 271 ½ N. Second Avenue, Middleport, OH, for OVI, driving under a suspended license and driving outside the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Meadows was arrested on US 50 by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 11 at 12:35 am.

Allen Dale Ball, age 29, 74 Pine Brook Road, Washington, WV, for driving under a suspended license and for failing to obey the right of way, both misdemeanors. Ball was arrested in Barlow by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 11 at 2:01 pm.

Nathaniel Alexander Landen, age 26, 716 Colvin Street Apt. C, Belpre, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and two misdemeanor counts of theft. Landen was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 11 at 8:31 pm.

Raven Skyler Andrews, age 21, 207 Florence Street, Belpre, for theft, misuse of a credit card and contempt of a court order, all misdemeanors. Andrews was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 11 at 9:15 pm.
