On 26 Dec 11 Tammy Rutter, age 41, 38686 State
Route 7, Newport, reported her brother, Denver Bird, age 36,
consumed alcohol throughout the day and instigated a confrontation
with her. Mr. Bird has lived with his sister for the past five
or six years and was previously asked to not bring guests into
the home. When Ms. Rutter again requested that Mr. Bird not
bring a friend in the home, he became upset, started yelling
and shoved her by the shoulders. Ms. Rutter tripped over a box
and fell to the floor but was uninjured. Mr. Bird subsequently
retrieved two rifles from his vehicle and continued to yell
at Ms. Rutter as he carried the weapons to his room in the basement.
Mr. Bird did not threaten anyone with the weapons but Ms. Rutter
and her family exited the residence until law enforcement arrived.
Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested Mr.
Bird for handling a weapon while intoxicated and domestic violence
and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 26 Dec 11 Deputy Sheriff Caltrider was conducting
a security check at the Marietta Soccer Complex at 802 River
Road, Marietta, when he discovered that the facility’s
concession stand had been forcibly entered. The complex’s
director inspected the concession stand and stated nothing appeared
to be missing. This case remains under investigation.
On 26 Dec 11 Stephen R. Dennis, age 59, 106
Randolph Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 10 pm and
1 am an unknown suspect(s) stole a digital camera and a mobile
phone from his unlocked vehicle. This case remains under investigation

Stephanie Lynn McKeown, age 36, 815 Warrior
Drive, Vincent, for theft, a misdemeanor. McKeown was arrested
at her residence by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Dec
11 at 11:10 am.
Denver Shannon Bird, age 36, 38686 State Route
7, Newport, for domestic violence and for using a weapon while
intoxicated, both misdemeanors. Bird was arrested at his residence
by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Dec 11 at 7:31 pm.
