On 22 Dec 11 Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested
summonses for Morgan E. Collins, age 18, 1080 Bethel Road, Marietta,
and for a seventeen year old Fleming resident for underage possession
of alcohol. The two females borrowed a friend’s vehicle
and returned to the juvenile’s residence after arriving
at the Washington County Career Center for class that morning
and retrieved a bottle of vodka and two shot glasses. Ms. Collins
said they intended to consume the vodka but after they returned
to returned to the Career Center they were too scared to drink
any. The friend who loaned Ms. Collins the vehicle was unaware
of the reason she borrowed it.
On 22 Dec 11 an employee of Marietta Industrial
Enterprises, 101 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, reported when he
arrived at work that morning he noticed three doors on a maintenance
building. Once inside the building, the two suspects observed
on security footage stole an iPod and docking station, packs
of work gloves and loose change. The suspects also broke the
glass on a vending machine and removed a large amount of snacks
and candy. This case remains under investigation (610).
On 22 Dec 11 Deputy Sheriff McLeish responded
to a domestic dispute involving Sean C. Schwendeman, age 42,
4725 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, and his adult daughter. A witness
stated the two argue regularly and it appeared the daughter
struck her father in the face. The witness said she later realized
there was no physical contact and that the actions were only
hand gestures. Mr. Schwendeman and his daughter both declined
to pursue the matter further.
On 22 Dec 11 Nicole D. Vannoy, age 32, 130
Killwell Run Road, Marietta, reported her husband, Jason, age
36, assaulted her during an argument over their marital problems.
Arguing in their kitchen, Mrs. Vannoy stated her husband shoved
her head against the cabinets multiple times and also grabbed
her throat. Mr. Vannoy admitted grabbing his wife’s throat
during the incident and commented that he was out of control
and may have “lost it” during the dispute. Consequently,
Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested Mr. Vannoy for domestic violence
and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 22 Dec 11 the owner of Arrowhead Golf Course,
17300 State Route 60, Lowell, reported when he opened the cash
register in the clubhouse he noticed all of the currency was
missing. Further checking of the clubhouse revealed that a quantity
of cash was also missing from a safe in the office. The owner
estimates a total of between $500 and $1,000 was stolen. This
case remains under investigation (1007).
The following individual
was processed into the Washington County Jail:
Sterling Houston Roberts, age 28, Randy Scott
Drive, Marietta, for failure to appear, a felony. Roberts was
arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Wright of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 22 Dec 11 at 7:01 am.
