On 21 Dec 11 the Beverly-Waterford Fire Department transported Martin L. Vansyoc, age 51, 47640 State Route 147, Sarahsville, OH, to Marietta Memorial Hospital following an accident at AEP on Sparling Road in Waterford. Mr. Vansyoc and another employee were removing a hatch in preparation to clean a condenser when the accident occurred. The vacuum was not properly removed from the chamber and sucked Mr. Vancyoc partially through the hatch opening before two other employees were able to remove him. Mr. Vansyoc suffered a head injury as well as lacerations to his neck and leg. He was later life-flighted to Columbus for further treatment to his head injury (610).

On 21 Dec 11 Travis Fagan, 180 Baker Ridge Road, Macksburg, reported at some point during the past three days an unknown suspect(s) stole two stainless steel milk tank lids from a scrap pile on his property. This case remains under investigation (1007).

On 21 Dec 11 Michael McKenzie, age 50, 301 Longacre Street, Marietta, reported sometime after he last saw it in October, a twelve foot homemade utility trailer was stolen from where he stored it at 330 Caywood Road, Marietta. Receiving information that a similar trailer was parked at Vanguard Paints, Mr. McKenzie identified the trailer as the one that was stolen from his property and transported it back to that location. This case remains under investigation (1007).

On 21 Dec 11 a contractor for Stonebridge Operating Company reported a total of sixty valves ranging in size from a quarter inch to two inches were recently stolen from a pump site in the area of 1400 State Route 83 in Waterford Township. The individual said the valves have a value of approximately $1,200 but are not worth nearly as much as scrap because they are only brass coated and not solid brass. This case remains under investigation (1007).

On 21 Dec 11 Shailah M. Malone, age 21, 2110 Christy Road, Marietta, was traveling southbound near 46081 State Route 7 in Grandview Township when a deer jumped into the roadway and struck the front driver side of her Toyota Corolla. The deer then struck the front a rear driver side doors, causing nonfunctional damage. Ms. Malone was not injured during the collision (1184).

On 21 Dec 11 Kevin R. Stevens, age 45, 435 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, reported he was waiting to cross the street to check his mail when he stated he was struck by a vehicle turning into his shared driveway. The driver of the vehicle, Missi F. Scott, age 40, 5355 State Route 26, Marietta, said she did not see Mr. Stevens and did not hear any sort of impact. Mr. Stevens stated he was not injured but sought medical treatment after he said he experienced soreness and stiffness in his torso overnight. No charges were filed as result of the accident (1184).

On 21 Dec 11 Amy N. Leedy, age 22, 9552 State Route 550, Vincent, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) stole several car parts from a storage building on her property and a Power Wheels ATV from her yard. This case remains under investigation (592).

On 21 Dec 11 a clerk at Turner’s One Stop, 18990 State Route 339, Waterford, reported the driver of a Chevy SUV drove off without paying for $22 in gasoline. When contacted, the suspect stated he forgot to pay for the gasoline and he immediately returned to pay for it. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Underwood closed this case.

On 21 Dec 11 Deputy Sheriff Deem requested a warrant for Jason I. Moncman, age 36, Marietta, for failure to register a change of address as a registered sex offender. Informed by Mr. Moncman’s probation officer that he could not locate him at his registered address, Deputy Deem found that Mr. Moncman moved with his girlfriend to Cambridge and had been living there since 1 Nov.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Edwin Elias Fischer, age 55, 235 Canyon View Lane, Cabins, WV, for .08 breath OVI, speeding, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Fischer was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 11 at 1:50 am.

Anthony Michael Boyce, age 27, 6245 Sandhill Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Boyce was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 11 at 11:09 am.

Justin Daniel Deems, age 31, 725 Seventh Street, Marietta, for tampering with evidence, breaking and entering and theft, all felonies. Deems was arrested at Wards Recycling by Detective Hawkins of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 11 at 3:01 pm.

Ira David Blair Jr., age 27, 705 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for a felony charge of tampering with evidence and a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property. Blair was arrested at Wards Recycling by Detective Hawkins of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 11 at 3:16 pm.

Christopher Hall, age 35, 137 Henry Lane, Williamstown, for possession of drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor. Hall was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 11 at 3:31 pm.

Jonathan Shelton, age 31, 137 Henry Lane, Williamstown, for possession of drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor. Shelton was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 11 at 3:47 pm.

Jason Israel Moncman, age 36, 507 Chichester Lane, Parkersburg, for failure to register a change of address as a registered sex offender, a felony. Moncman was arrested at the Adult Parole Office by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Dec 11 at 4:27 pm.
