On 9 Dec 11 the Reno Fire Department transported a twenty-nine year old Marietta resident for treatment to self-inflicted cuts to his wrist. The victim appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was found in possession of eighteen Xanax pills for which he did not have a prescription. Consequently, Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested a summons for the victim for possession of drugs.

On 9 Dec 11 Deputy Sheriff Mankins requested a warrant for Kennard Hays, age 31, 60 Wittekind Road, Marietta, for domestic violence. Tonya Hays, age 31, sought treatment at a hospital in Columbiana County for injuries suffered during an altercation with her husband at their residence. Mrs. Hays said her husband was intoxicated during the argument and that he shoved and pinned her against a wall. The altercation left Mrs. Hays with a sprained shoulder.

On 9 Dec 11 Karen F. Rairden, age 24, 90 Barrett-South Road, Vincent, reported she and her boyfriend spend the night at a friend’s home on State Route 821 a week earlier and while she was there a large quantity of pills from her prescriptions for oxycodone and hydromorphone were stolen from her purse. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 9 Dec 11 Stanley L. Barker, age 59, 14761 State Route 555, Cutler, reported he has a protection order against his wife and he believes she attempted to circumvent the order by sending two men to his home to collect some of her property on her behalf. This case remains under investigation (208).

On 9 Dec 11 Deputy Sheriff Holbert assisted the Highway Patrol in an investigation involving a vehicle taken without permission from a residence on Layman Road in Vincent. The vehicle was returned to the residence after being involved in a crash near Warren High School. Though she initially denied any knowledge of the incident, the victim’s fifteen year old daughter later said she was with her boyfriend when he took and crashed the vehicle. The victim declined to pursue charges in the matter, saying that her daughter’s boyfriend was in enough trouble and she did not want to involve her daughter in any way.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Ashley Josh Rowan O’Brien, age 28, 300 Arends Ridge Road, Marietta, for breach of recognizance and theft, both misdemeanors. O’Brien was arrested on Montgomery Street by Detective Schuck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Dec 11 at 11:29 am.

John Daniel Davis II, age 35, 280 Leo Sams Lane, Chesterhill, for felonious assault. Davis was picked up at the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office by Deputy Sheriff Deem and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Dec 11 at 12:09 pm.

Amanda Dawn Moore, age 30, 1049 Stadium Drive, Parkersburg, for theft, a misdemeanor. Moore was arrested at Wal-Mart by Patrolman Hansen of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Dec 11 at 4:32 pm.

Matthew Daniel Whitstine, age 20, 830 ½ Third Street, Marietta, for breach of recognizance, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and underage possession of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Whitstine was arrested at Wal-Mart by Patrolman Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Dec 11 at 8:59 pm.

Brittany Maria Martin, age 26, 100 Pennsylvania Avenue Apt. 8, Marietta, for obstructing official business and criminal trespassing, both misdemeanors. Martin was arrested at Wal-Mart by Patrolman Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Dec 11 at 10:27 pm.

Justin Michael Johnston, age 23, 3168 Veto Road, Vincent, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Johnston was arrested by Patrolman McClelland at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Dec 11 at 11:13 pm.
