On 8 Nov 11 Robin Montgomery, age 51, 3836 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, reported she received what appears to be a fraudulent check for payment for a television she posted for sale on Craig’s List. Prior to releasing the television to the buyer, Ms. Montgomery determined the check was likely part of a scam perpetrated by the buyer. Evidence in this case was forwarded to law enforcement in Orlando, FL for further investigation (208).

On 8 Nov 11 Sgt. Norman arrested Coree G. Johnson, age 19, 45 Franklin Drive, Little Hocking, for automobile theft, OVI and for operating a vehicle without a license. While en route to the victim’s residence at 28 Franklin Drive, Sgt. Norman observed the victim’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on US 50 near Drag Strip Road. Mr. Johnson, who had a strong odor of alcohol, slurred his speech and admitted consuming four beers earlier in the evening. Mr. Johnson also admitted stealing the vehicle but denied crashing the vehicle despite the presence of visible damage on the vehicle that the victim said was not there earlier. When transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Johnson tested .163 BAC.

On 8 Nov 11 a twenty-five year old Waterford resident reported she was visiting a friend’s residence in Macksburg when her friend’s boyfriend threatened her via phone and text message. The complainant also refused to pursue charges in the matter.

On 8 Nov 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested John N. Wooten, age 20, 21149 Chapman Road, Guysville, for telephone harassment. Mr. Wooten was charged with menacing and telephone harassment following an incident with the child’s mother in October, prompting the victim to deny Mr. Wooten’s request to see the child. The victim said her denial enraged Mr. Wooten and she felt he was capable of carrying out his threat.
