On 5 Nov 11 Deputy Sheriff Metts and the New Matamoras Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 6110 State Route 260, New Matamoras. The fire was a mere five feet from the residence of Dennis Tepe, age 49, but did not spread to the home because the wind was blowing the flames in the opposite direction. Mr. Tepe and a neighbor were able to move three vehicles from the garage before they were damaged but additional property in the garage was a total loss. The State Fire Marshal’s Office was contacted to identify the cause of the fire.

On 5 Nov 11 Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested Adam C. Ruble, age 26, 4000 State Route 530, Lowell, for OVI. Stopped after veering off the roadway and over a curb, Mr. Ruble had a strong odor of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet. Mr. Ruble refused to submit to field sobriety tests but did admit consuming a few beers that evening. When transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Ruble also refused to submit to a BAC test.

On 5 Nov 11 Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested summonses for Quinton Gaskins, age 20, 1150 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol and his live-in girlfriend, Logan M. Deems, age 19, for disorderly conduct by intoxication and for underage consumption of alcohol. After imbibing libations earlier in the evening Mr. Gaskins said his girlfriend shoved him and slapped him because she thought he was paying more attention to her sister. Deputy Anderson determined Mr. Gaskins did not fear for his safety during the incident.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Thomas Jeffery Minton, age 54, 16488 State Route 339, Waterford, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Minton was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Metts and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Nov 11 at 10:58 am.
