On 27 Oct 11 Lt. Stackpole issued a citation to Samantha Riggs, age 30, 124 W. Eighth Street, Williamstown, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Lt. Stackpole stopped Ms. Riggs on State Route 7 near Blue Knob Road in Warren Township.

On 27 Oct 11 Lt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Tracy A. Jones, age 46, 125 Mound Drive, Marietta, for traveling 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. Lt. Hornbeck stopped Ms. Jones on State Route 339 near Brackenridge Road in Belpre Township.

On 27 Oct 11 Lt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Steven A. Roddy II, age 29, 302 Main Street, Belpre, for traveling 63 mph in a 45 mph zone. Lt. Hornbeck stopped Mr. Roddy on State Route 339 near milepost 4.5 in Belpre Township.

On 27 Oct 11 a fifty-five year old Marietta resident reported her husband departed their residence with a handgun and she feared he may harm himself because he attempted suicide in the past. The woman’s husband later returned unharmed on his own accord. He said he did not intend to harm himself and that he left because his wife was yelling (507).

On 27 Oct 11 Michael Singer, age 53, 363 Clark Road, Cutler, reported his son awoke him in the early morning hours, yelling for him to put out a fire. Mr. Singer then discovered a small stack of wood and a flaming rag positioned near a rear corner of his trailer. In the past few nights Mr. Singer also found a burnt rag in his dryer vent and a flaming rag stuffed into a window a window frame. Additionally, Mr. Singer stated multiple tires on his truck have been slashed during the same timeframe. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 27 Oct 11 Deputy Sheriff Metts requested a warrant for Herbert L. Nunn II, age 37, 234 Pam Road, New Matamoras, for theft. An individual placed a donation jar on the counter at Byer’s Exxon in Newport to collect money for a friend who was injured in a car crash and when she returned to retrieve it the jar was missing. Security footage showed Mr. Nunn entering the store on 23 Oct, placing the jar under his shirt and leaving in his vehicle.

On 27 Oct 11 Brenda K. Day, age 53, 830 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, reported she was involved in an argument with her son, Charles Jr., age 28, at their residence that afternoon. Arguing over the fact that Mrs. Day backed into her husband’s truck, Mr. Day threw an empty box at his mother. Mrs. Day stated she did not know the twelve pack of soda box was empty when her son threw it and she feared for her safety during the incident. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Anderson arrested Mr. Day for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Timothy Logan Michael Howell, age 22, 21 Dunn Lane, New Matamoras, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Howell was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Oct 11 at 2:57 am.

Donald Eugene Bartimus, age 31, 2346 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Bartimus was arrested in Vincent by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Oct 11 at 7:23 am.

Alfredo Jose Ramirez, age 20, 53 182 Street, Apt. 3C, Bronx, NY, for assault and for obstructing official business, both misdemeanors. Ramirez was arrested on Front Street by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Oct 11 at 7:48 am.

Theresa Marie Buffington, age 31, 209 Fifth Street, Beverly, for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Buffington was arrested in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Oct 11 at 9:58 am.

Carl Adrian Huggins, age 51, 219 Shamrock Avenue, Mingo Junction, OH, for being intoxicated along the roadway, a misdemeanor. Huggins was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Oct 11 at 4:41 pm.
