On 8 Oct 11 Linda Copeland, age 39, 507 Stone Road, Belpre, reported she was dropping off a friend of her teenage son on Beach Drive in Belpre when she noticed a car approaching that is similar to one owned by her husband. Ms. Copeland has a protection order against her husband and said the driver of the vehicle reversed direction and followed her for a brief time. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 8 Oct 11 Rosalie A. Grahame, age 48, 730 Sheets Run Road, Newport, reported she was performing yard work around her home when she discovered a pane in her sliding glass door was broken. This case remains under investigation (608).

On 8 Oct 11 Kenneth W. Smith Sr., age 42, 2820 Sugar Run Road, Marietta, reported he was a away from his residence on business for the past few days and during that time an unknown suspect(s) entered his home. Mr. Smith said the suspect(s) cut the wires off the appliances, tore wires from the walls and removed copper pipes and wires from the basement. Additionally, the suspect(s) stole an engine, a truck grille, a transmission and a carburetor from Mr. Smith’s yard. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 8 Oct 11 Deputy Sheriffs Mankins and Metts investigated an anonymous report of a female who was possibly injured and missing from her home in New Matamoras. Attempts to locate the woman were unsuccessful but she was found uninjured the following day.

On 8 Oct 11 Carrie A. McCoy, age 34, 11540 State Route 339, Vincent, reported she has a protection order against one of her neighbors and earlier in the evening her neighbor and another individual loudly revved their motorcycles in front of her home. Ms. McCoy stated the two suspects then drove through part of her yard. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 8 Oct 11 John Clark, age 58, 2355 Buell’s Run Road, Macksburg, reported at some point during the past three weeks an unknown suspect(s) stole three chainsaws, an extension cord and the rims off two junk vehicles on his property. This case remains under investigation (594).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Erick Alan Cline, age 25, 309 Maple Street, Belpre, for theft and forgery, both felonies. Cline was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Oct 11 at 11:03 am.

Brandon Michael Schmidt, age 21, 300 Holly Street, Marietta, for unauthorized use of a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Schmidt was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Wright of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Oct 11 at 9:00 pm.

Michael Paul Stacy, age 33, 2217 Windy Ridge Road, Vincent, for OVI, driving under a suspended license, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Stacy was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Oct 11 at 11:13 pm.

Emily Jo Welch, age 36, 728 Third Street, Marietta, for domestic violence and child endangering, both misdemeanors. Welch was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Oct 11 at 11:29 pm.
