On 29 Sep 11 Deputy Sheriff Simmons responded to the scene of death of a fifty year old Marietta resident. The woman’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

On 29 Sep 11 Lt. Hornbeck requested warrants for Mary E. McKitrick, age 33, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 8B, New Matamoras, for burglary and for two counts of theft. Last month Ms. McKitrick stole a Lowes gift card from inside a residence on Greene Street in Newport and a Wal-Mart gift card from an acquaintance’s residence she was visiting the same day. Lt. Hornbeck thereafter identified items purchased with the Lowes gift card and definitively linked them to Ms. McKitrick. Viewing security footage from the time the Wal-Mart card was used, Lt. Hornbeck observed a woman who was later identified as Ms. McKitrick’s mother. She stated she bought the gift card from her daughter and was unaware that it was stolen.

On 29 Sep 11 Deputy Sheriff Reeder was dispatched to 19639 State Route 550, Marietta, in response to a domestic altercation involving the home’s resident, Rodrick Pettis, age 23, and the pregnant mother of his child, Natasha M. Treadway, age 22, 210 Highview Landing, Columbus. Ms. Treadway traveled to Mr. Pettis’ residence that afternoon to confront him after learning he was cheating on her. Immediately initiating an argument when she arrived, Ms. Treadway admitted throwing several household items at Mr. Pettis that struck him in the face and body. At some point, Ms. Treadway retrieved a kitchen knife and punctured the tire of Mr. Pettis’ new girlfriend’s vehicle which was parked outside. Ms. Treadway was so enraged she threw a cinder block at the vehicle several times, breaking the rear window, cracking the windshield and leaving a number of dents. As a result of the incident, Deputy Reeder arrested Ms. Treadway for domestic violence and criminal damaging and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
