On 24 Sep 11 Deputy Sheriffs Mankins and Metts
responded to a report of a fight at 3227 School House Road,
Little Hocking. Interviewing two males at the scene, the Deputies
determined that the alleged suspects were arguing over a woman
and no crime occurred involving the two. However, while questioning
one of the home’s residents, Constance S. Sargent, age
46, Deputy Mankins observed a wooden box containing a marijuana
pipe and two bags of marijuana on a couch in the home. Admitting
the contraband belonged to her, Ms. Sargent was arrested for
possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and
transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 24 Sep 11 Shelba J. Dowler, age 69, 10440
State Route 550, Barlow, reported she and her husband were away
from their residence the afternoon of 21 Sep and during that
time her jewelry was stolen from her bedroom. This case remains
under investigation (790).
On 24 Sep 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a
minor misdemeanor citation to Claudia A. Staley, 48, 1303 Ellis
Run Road, Cutler, for disorderly conduct by fighting. Brenda
Barrows, age 45, 304 Van Bergen Avenue, Marietta, reported she
was speaking to her ex-husband at the Warren High School football
game that evening when Ms. Staley approached her. Ms. Staley
is the current girlfriend of Ms. Barrows’ ex-husband.
During a brief argument Ms. Barrows called Ms. Staley a derogatory
name, prompting Ms. Staley to slap her across the face.
On 24 Sep 11 Deputy Sheriffs Anderson, Mankins
and Metts responded to a domestic altercation at the residence
of Amy N. Leedy, age 22, at 9552 State Route 550, Vincent. Ms.
Leedy reported she has a protection order against her mother,
Lori Leedy, age 46, 619 Connett Road, Nelsonville, and her mother
was at her home and refused to leave the residence. Appearing
to be under the influence of drugs, Lori initiated an argument
and charged toward her daughter with a hammer. A third party
stepped between the two, at which point Lori produced a knife
and began cutting herself. Thereafter, Lori departed the residence
and could not be located. Amy stated the incident caused her
to fear for her safety and for that of her mother. Therefore,
Deputy Anderson requested warrants for Lori for domestic violence
and for violating the terms of a protection order. She turned
herself in on 28 Sep and was transported to the Washington County

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kemery Jean Sigmund, age 29, 47455 Griggs Road,
Wellington, OH, for .17 breath OVI and for driving left of center,
both misdemeanors. Sigmund was arrested on Second Street in
Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 11 at 3:07 am.
Jason Todd Bailey, age 35, 10260 State Route
550, Vincent, for failure to reinstate his operator’s
license, failure to control, for not wearing a seat belt and
for failure to appear in court, all misdemeanors. Bailey was
arrested in Vincent by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 11 at 12:47 pm.
Constance Suzanne Sargent, age 46, 3227 School
House Road, Little Hocking, for possession of drugs and possession
of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Sargent was arrested
at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Metts and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 11 at 10:30 pm.
