Archive of 09-22-11

On 22 Sep 11 an employee of McAlester Fuel Company, 2243 San Felipe, Houston, TX, reported at some point during the past three weeks an unknown suspect(s) removed approximately 6,000 feet of two inch pipe from an oil well site located at 990 Lang Ridge Road, Lowell. This case remains under investigation (500).

On 22 Sep 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested Daniel L. Francis, age 26, 1420 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, for possession of drug paraphernalia and for two counts of possession of drugs. Stopping Mr. Francis on State Route 555 near milepost fourteen for having a license plate for a 1999 Dodge truck on a 1977 Ford truck, Deputy Smeeks noticed an odor of marijuana. A subsequent pat down for weapons on Mr. Francis resulted in the discovery of a bag of marijuana in Mr. Francis’ shirt pocket. During the following search of Mr. Francis’ truck, Deputy Smeeks located a marijuana bud, various over the counter pills and twenty-one Vicodin pills. Additionally, Deputy Smeeks found what appeared to be a mobile phone but was actually a set of digital scales that Mr. Francis said he used to weigh his personal marijuana.

On 22 Sep 11 an employee of Verizon Wireless reported at some point during the past month an unknown suspect(s) cut a lock to access a mobile phone tower at 277 Macksburg Hill Road, Macksburg. Though the ten or fifteen pounds of copper removed from the tower are not very valuable as scrap, the employee said it would cost approximately $2,000 to repair. This case remains under investigation (500).

On 22 Sep a sixty-six year old Mount Tom Road, Marietta, resident reported his fifty-three year old wife departed their home that afternoon in their Chevy truck with $15 and he hasn’t heard from her in over eight hours. The complainant stated his wife is bi-polar, schizophrenic and frequently smokes marijuana. Utilizing OnStar, Deputy Sheriff Schubert located the couple’s vehicle in Charleston, WV but law enforcement there said the vehicle was unoccupied. This case remains under investigation.

On 22 Sep 11 David Griffin, age 53, 3330 Dalzell Road, Whipple, reported a fifth wheel trailer with a toolbox, chains and binders was stolen from his property sometime between 9 pm on 21 Sep and 7 am on 22 Sep. This case remains under investigation (208).

On 22 Sep 11 Diana McGrew, age 48, 122 Emory Lane, Little Hocking, reported she and her husband were away from their residence for several hours the previous afternoon and when she returned home she noticed that it appeared someone rummaged through her bedroom drawers and armoire. Mrs. McGrew said jewelry, including gold rings, diamond rings and gold necklaces, was stolen from her bedroom. This case remains under investigation (507).

On 22 Sep 11 Doug Hendershot, age 32, 47861 State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported he discovered the lock and latch were pried off a storage building on his property. Taking inventory of his belongings, Mr. Hendershot determined fishing equipment, a table saw, two chainsaws, a weed eater, two lanterns and various tools were stolen from the building. This case remains under investigation (208).

William R. Adams, age 35, 9550 State Route 550, Vincent, for the theft of a car battery from a county resident on 29 Jun 11.

Ciara M. Cavallier, age 23, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $539.50.

Rita M. Cavillis, age 38, 403 Blennerhassett Avenue, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,046.50.

Joshua L. Gore, age 23, 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras, for the theft of a dirt bike from a New Matamoras resident on 30 Aug 11.

Christina M. Jones, age 26, 26935 State Route 7 Apt. 2A, for disorderly conduct by intoxication on 2 Sep 11.

Amy M. Leedy, age 22, 9552 State Route 550, Vincent, for contempt of a court order on 8 Sep 11.

Robert Ostroy, age 26, 917 Barth Road, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,137.50.

Willie B. Ross, age 63, 3265 School House Road, Little Hocking, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $468.

Keith M. Saunders, age 24, 904 Latrobe Street, Parkersburg, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $338.

John E. Shryock, age 61, 2540 Plantsville Road, Chesterhill, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear in court on 7 Sep 11.

Thomas R. Statkiewicz, age 28, 253 Lake Road, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $695.50.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Robert Edward Carpenter, age 37, 2665 Mill Fork Road, Marietta, for driving under an OVI suspended license, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Sep 11 at 2:29 am.

Tony Winfield Menefee, age 36, 2505 Washington Boulevard Suite B, Belpre, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Menefee was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff McConnell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Sep 11 at 7:35 am.

Thomas Alden Statkiewicz, age 28, 253 Lake Road, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Statkiewicz was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Sep 11 at 1:55 pm.

Willie B. Ross, age 63, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Ross was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Sep 11 at 3:15 pm.

Kenneth Michael Houk, age 53, 1431 Harmony Road, Punxsutawney, PA, for .08 breath OVI, hit-skip, ACDA and for being in possession of an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Houk was arrested on State Route 339 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Sep 11 at 10:24 pm.

Daniel Lee Francis, age 26, 1420 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, for possession of drug paraphernalia and for two counts of possession of drugs, all misdemeanors. Francis was arrested on State Route 555 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Sep 11 at 11:58 pm.

Matthew William Hahn, age 34, 1206 Hocking Road, Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hahn was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Williams of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Sep 11 at 1:47 am.
