On 20 Sep 11 Howard L. Mayle, age 60, 121 Southland
Cemetery Road, Cutler, reported he was at home with his family
when three African American males knocked on his door and asked
to use his phone. The three men, two of which were armed with
handguns, forced their way inside the home and demanded money.
Inside the home, the suspects pointed their weapons at the heads
of the family, including Mr. Mayle’s nine year old daughter.
On one occasion one of the suspect(s) struck Mr. Mayle in the
head with his fist. Mr. Mayle was struck in the head a second
time after he attempted to reach for a handgun one of the suspects
placed on a table. Mr. Mayle fled to a neighbor’s home
to phone for help, at which the point the suspects absconded.
The suspects appeared to be between seventeen and nineteen years
old, were wearing baggy clothing and baseball caps. This case
remains under investigation.
On 20 Sep 11 Keith Huff, age 27, 304 Fifth
Street, Lowell, reported he awoke to the sound of a car door
closing in the middle of the night and when walked outside to
see what was amiss he observed two subjects running down Sixth
Street. Thereafter, Mr. Huff discovered what appeared to be
sugar around the open gas caps of his and his roommate’s
trucks. This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 20 Sep 11 Christopher N. Mayle, age 32,
2450 Two Mile Run Road, Cutler, reported he was visiting a friend’s
residence at 10965 State Route 555, Cutler when three acquaintances
arrived at the location. As he spoke to one of the acquaintances,
Mr. Mayle said another sucker punched him in the right side
of his face. Mr. Mayle subsequently escaped inside the residence
and the three acquaintances fled in a vehicle. Suffering a possible
orbital fracture and a laceration near his right eye, Mr. Mayle
sought treatment at Marietta Memorial Hospital. This case remains
under investigation (200).
On 20 Sep 11 Joshua Motley, age 24, 1670 State
Route 339 Apt. A, Belpre, reported he recently learned an unknown
suspect attempted to use his personal information to open account
on the website creditreport.com. This case remains under investigation
On 20 Sep 11 Deputy Sheriffs Carr and McConnell
responded to the scene of death of a twenty-three year old Belpre
resident. Though the man’s death does not appear to be
suspicious, this case remains under investigation.
On 20 Sep 11 Ashley D. Yost, age 29, 6364 State
Route 550, Cutler, reported when she arrived home around 1:45
pm she discovered a muddy footprint in her bedroom. Mrs. Yost
stated husband was at work at the time she was away from home
and that no property appears missing from the residence. This
case remains under investigation (507, 790).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Cynthia Ann Allen, age 24, 3818 Liberty Street
Apt. 1, Parkersburg, for criminal trespassing and for two counts
of theft, all misdemeanors. Allen was arrested in Marietta Municipal
Court by Patrolman Caldwell of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Sep 11 at
Brittany Maria Martin, age 26, Pennsylvania
Avenue Apt. 8, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation,
a misdemeanor. Martin was arrested in Marietta by Probation
Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 20 Sep 11 at 12:06 pm.
Dustin Lee McKnight, age 26, 923 State Route
60, Lowell, for theft, a felony. McKnight was picked up at the
Noble County Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Sep 11 at 5:56 pm.
John Lewis Lindsey II, age 35, 230 East Henniger
Road, Lowell, for two felony counts of receiving stolen property.
Lindsey was picked up at the Belmont Correctional Institution
by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Sep 11 at 6:09 pm.
Brandon Lee Gibbs, age 18, 827 Ridge Street,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Gibbs was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Thomas of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Sep 11 at 8:48 pm.
