On 14 Sep 11 John Porter, age 28, 6350 State Route 821, Whipple, reported he last opened his lockbox on 11 Sep and when he opened it on 14 Sep $70 was missing. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 14 Sep 11 Amber L. McKitrick, age 29, 420 Ewing Road, Reno, reported she was driving northbound on Ewing Road when an oncoming vehicle struck her vehicle’s driver side mirror. Ms. McKitrick said the collision caused only minor damage and the approaching vehicle was driven by a relative so she declined to pursue the matter (594).

On 14 Sep 11 Major Coppernoll and Lt. Hornbeck responded to a domestic dispute at 12590 State Route 550, Fleming. The complainant stated her son, Daniel T. Reese III, age 52, was intoxicated, disrespectful and refused to come inside and eat the dinner she fixed for him. Interviewed by Lt. Hornbeck, Mr. Reese said his mother struck him with a ham bone and was angry that he mowed a neighbor’s yard instead of eating dinner. As Major Coppernoll and Lt. Hornbeck attempted to resolve the situation amicably, Mr. Reese became belligerent and repeatedly interrupted them. Consequently, Lt. Hornbeck arrested Mr. Reese for disorderly conduct and transported him to the Washington County Jail. At the jail Mr. Reese tested .240 BAC.

On 14 Sep 11 Jason Merrill, age 34, 334 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, reported at some point during the past three days an unknown suspect(s) entered his camper along the Ohio River near 500 Blue Knob Road, Marietta. Stolen from the camper were a nineteen inch flat panel television, a pair of binoculars, an air pump and a spotlight. The owner of a cabin next to Mr. Merrill said nothing was missing from inside but the suspect(s) stole four fishing poles, a tackle box and a lifejacket from their docked pontoon boat. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 14 Sep 11 Deputy Sheriff Reeder arrested Kenneth R. Rogers, age 24, 311 Walnut Street, Lowell, for obstructing official business and domestic violence. A neighbor reported Mr. Rogers punched his live-in girlfriend, Astin Oliver, age 28, in the face and she was bleeding from the nose. When Deputies Carr and Reeder arrived at the scene Mr. Rogers fled and avoided their repeated attempts to apprehend him. Questioned about the incident, Ms. Oliver stated the two were arguing over various issues when Mr. Rogers punched her. Ms. Oliver said her boyfriend has been violent in the past but this is the first incident she reported. The Deputies later located Mr. Rogers and were forced to drag him out from under a bush where he was hiding.

On 14 Sep 11 Jeffrey Denton, age 41, 735 Silver Globe Road, Marietta, reported he has been staying at the County Home since late July and at some point since then an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole twelve lava lamps, a freezer, a concrete bear, a television and a microwave. This case remains under investigation (1007).

On 14 Sep 11 the Beverly-Waterford emergency squad transported a thirty-seven year old Waterford resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment following a suicide attempt. Ingesting an overdose of two of her prescription medications, the victim did not suffer any permanent injuries (610).

On 14 Sep 11 Mary V. Guthrie, age 57, 451 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, reported she recently asked her roommate to move out of her home and while he was doing so she believes he stole a computer modem and router, flowers, a DVD player and other items. Ms. Guthrie also said her roommate poured sand in the oil of her scooter. The estimated cost to repair the scooter is $1,000. This case remains under investigation (610).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Frederick Robinson IV, age 36, 335 Fifth Street, Kirkersville, OH, for OVI, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for being in possession of an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Robinson was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 3:05 am.

Corey William Seeger, age 24, 126 Dawes Circle, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Seeger was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 4:15 am.

Harold Gene Gibson III, age 36, 120 Big Oak Loop, Mullin, SC, for failure to confine/restrain a dog, a misdemeanor. Gibson was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 8:59 am.

Dustin Lee Brooks, age 24, 106 Franklin Street, Marietta, for failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer and for driving under a suspended license, both misdemeanors. Brooks was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 11:18 am.

Daniel Wayne Goldsmith, age 20, 210 Marion Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation and for contempt of a court order, both misdemeanors. Goldsmith was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 11:48 am.

Dana Ryan Seevers, age 26, 6005 State Route 60 East, McConnelsville, for OVI and for failure to reinstate his operator’s license, both misdemeanors. Seevers was arrested in McConnelsville by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 12:30 pm.

Mitchell Lee Erb, age 25, 811 Pioneer Community Road, Saint Marys, for being a fugitive from justice, a felony. Erb was arrested in Common Pleas Court by Deputy Sheriff Deem and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 3:32 pm.

Andrew David Britton, age 24, 200 Mile Run Road, Marietta, for corrupting another with drugs, a felony. Britton was picked up in North Carolina by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 4:47 pm.

Daniel Timothy Reese III, age 52, 12590 State Route 550, Fleming, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Reese was arrested at his residence by Lt. Hornbeck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 5:55 pm.

Phillip Lee Smith, age 47, 9640 State Route 555, Cutler, for three felony counts of trafficking in drugs. Smith was arrested at his residence by Detective Staats of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 11 at 6:15 pm.
