On 1 Sep 11 Clifton Blosser, age 72, 43 First Street, New Matamoras, reported while his wife was asleep on 20 Aug he believes an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole two handguns off his dresser. Mr. Blosser said he initially was not going to report the weapons stolen but was afraid they may be used to harm someone. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 1 Sep 11 Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested a summons for Christopher N. Mayle, age 32, 2450 Two Mile Run Road, Cutler, for possession of drugs. Mr. Mayle’s father reported his son was extremely intoxicated on an unknown narcotic and came to his home demanding money. A brief scuffle followed but ended after Mr. Mayle’s mother agreed to give him some money. Mr. Mayle subsequently became disoriented and unresponsive due to the ingestion of a large quantity of drugs. The Wesley Fire Department responded to the home and transported Mr. Mayle to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment. Deputy Anderson identified pills found in Mr. Mayle’s possession as Xanax.

On 1 Sep 11 Ralph T. Arthur, age 55, 193 Hannah Road, Mineral Wells, reported he was bulldozing around a vacant home he owns at 1775 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, when he noticed items missing from the home. Mr. Arthur said an unknown suspect(s) removed the copper pipes and electrical wiring out of the basement, cut the cords of electronics items and stole a number of hand tools. Returning to bulldozing, Mr. Arthur said a while later he saw smoke emanating from his home and that it was on fire. The Stockport and Wesley Fire Departments responded and extinguished the fire. The fire decimated the home, leaving only the chimney standing. Contacted by Deputy Sheriff Anderson, a fire marshal said the cause was likely accidental due to the fact that power was running to the home and there were severed electrical wires. The burglary remains under investigation.
