SEARCH WARRANT FOR SYNTHETIC MARIJUANA EXECUTED IN MARIETTA

This afternoon Task Force Agents received information from a confidential informant that Stephen Partin, age 22, was selling a form of synthetic marijuana from his residence in Marietta. The informant stated that they were aware of several children in Marietta that passed out or vomited after consuming the product that Partin was reportedly selling.

Agents subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant at Partin’s residence. At the residence Agents discovered 15.6 pounds of green vegetation that Partin stated was Damiana leaf as well as thirty-two grams of an unknown white powder. Agents believe Partin was mixing the white powder with fingernail polish remover, spraying the mixture onto the Damiana leaf and selling it in violation of the city ordinance banning the sale of synthetic drugs. While searching the home Agents seized a set of digital scales, various size bags of the green vegetation, $5,323 and a ledger with currency amounts for the different quantities of the vegetation. According to the amounts written in the ledger, Partin would have profited $102,150 if all of the vegetation was sold. The vegetation and white powder are being sent to BCI&I for chemical analysis.

Charges will be filed in the future based on the BCI&I test results.
