On 28 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Carr requested a summons for a seventeen year old Belpre resident to appear in Juvenile Court for being unruly. The teenager ran away after being left at home unattended that evening and has ignored her parents’ attempts to contact her.

On 28 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested Damien A. Hines, age 19, 27400 State Route 7 Lot 69, Marietta, for possession of drug paraphernalia, for operating a vehicle without a license and for speeding. When Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Hines for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Route 7 in Belpre he noticed an odor of marijuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded two marijuana pipes and digital scales. Though Mr. Hines denied being the owner of the contraband, his passenger stated the items were in a duffle bag that was the vehicle when she was picked up.

On 28 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to Rebecca C. McGowan, age 20, 113 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Smeeks stopped Ms. McGowan on State Route 7 near River Lane in Warren Township.

On 28 Aug 11 Virginia Pahl, age 56, 243 McDonald Road, Waterford, reported when she walked out of her home to check her bird feeders that morning she noticed her neighbor’s horse again escaped its fencing and was standing on her property. When Lt. Rhodes and Deputy Sheriff Metts arrived they escorted the horse back onto its owner’s property and identified a section of fence that was on the ground. The horse’s owner, Mary L. Webb, age 58, 297 McDonald Road, was ordered to repair the fence and issued a summons to appear in court for allowing an animal to remain at large.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Eric John Simmerman, age 18, 390 Oceana Avenue, Marmora, NJ, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Simmerman was arrested in Marietta by Officer Settle of the Marietta College Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 11 at 5:18 am.

Adam Tandy Anderson, age 27, 1502 Stone Quarry Road, Fleming, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Anderson was arrested in Fleming by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 11 at 9:47 am.

Thomas Hilton Bailey Jr., age 46, 83 Watson Lane, Belpre, for criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. Bailey turned himself in to Patrolman Stump at the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 11 at 3:28 pm.

Damien Alexander Hines, age 19, 27400 State Route 7 Lot 69, Marietta, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Hines was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 11 at 4:32 pm.

Scott Alan Lindsley, age 32, 1879 Madison Street, Muskegon, MI, for OVI, speeding and for being in possession of an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Lindsley was arrested on State Route 7 in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 11 at 5:58 pm.
