On 25 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested
summonses for Christopher L. Roy, age 19, 175 Miles Avenue,
Little Hocking, for underage possession of alcohol and for Zachary
Ankrom, age 19, 3578 School House Road, Little Hocking, for
selling alcohol to a minor. Previously employed by Par Mar in
Little Hocking, Mr. Ankrom sold beer to Mr. Roy. Both individuals
confessed to their roles in the sale of the alcohol and admitted
meeting at the store’s back door so the transaction would
not be recorded on video.
On 25 Aug 11 Angela Wotring, age 34, 705 Ross
Road, Little Hocking, reported sometime between 8 am and 5 pm
an unknown suspect(s) entered her home and stole her jewelry
box. Ms. Wotring was unsure of the value of the items in the
jewelry box, which contained a variety of rings, earrings and
necklaces. This case remains under investigation (707).
On 25 Aug 11 an employee of Marietta Transfer,
220 County Road Nine, Marietta, reported a small covered trailer
and a small flatbed trailer were stolen from the business at
some point between 6 Aug and 19 Aug. This case remains under
On 25 Aug 11 Kathy Jones, age 43, 10 Second
Street, Vincent, reported she was lying in bed when she heard
a window being broken. Investigating the sound, Ms. Jones discovered
a piece of a cinder block was thrown through a side window of
her home. This case remains under investigation (707).
On 25 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Schubert issued
a citation to Timothy L. Medeira, age 43, 4400 Mola Road, Clarion,
PA, for traveling 45 mph in a 20 mph school zone. Deputy Schubert
stopped Mr. Medeira near Frontier High School on State Route
7 in Grandview Township.
On 25 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and the Barlow and Wesley
fire departments were dispatched to a fire at 9692 State Route
555, Cutler. Engulfed in flames, the camper was the residence
of Greg Byrd, age 38. Mr. Byrd estimated the total loss due
to the fire is $8,000. The fire appears to have started in the
camper’s kitchen and was accidental in nature.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jonathan Lee Arthurs, age 18, 18173 State Route
550, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Arthurs was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Aug 11 at
Christopher Clay Caskin, age 30, 3560 Waterford
Road, Marietta, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Caskin
was arrested on Virginia Street by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 25 Aug 11 at 8:43 pm.
Dennis Ray Oakley, age 30, 85 Lang Farm Road,
Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Oakley was arrested
at his residence by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 25 Aug 11 at 11:33 pm.
