On 23 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Reeder requested a summons for a seventeen year old Lowell resident to appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by underage consumption of alcohol. Upset and crying, the teenager phoned a friend’s father to pick her up from a bonfire. The teenager had an odor of alcohol and admitted drinking a six pack of Smirnoff Ice. She tested .076 BAC.

On 23 Aug 11 Kevin B. Koonce, age 44, 2575 FM 226, Nagadoches, TX, reported he has been staying at the Magnuson Hotel on Muskingum Drive in Marietta and had a two seat pedal boat tied to the dock behind the hotel. Mr. Koonce said sometime between 9 pm on 22 Aug and 8:30 am on 23 Aug an unknown suspect(s) either stole the boat or untied it and it floated away. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 23 Aug 11 an employee of All Crane Rental, 17960 State Route 7, Marietta, reported when he arrived at work that morning he discovered a total of twelve batteries were missing from four semi-trucks parked at the business. The cost to replace the batteries is approximately $1,200. This case remains under investigation (610).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Darin Sean Bryan, age 25, 97 Middle Hill Road, Waverly, WV, for vandalism, a felony. Bryan was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Tornes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 11 at 11:11 am.

Charles Edward Atkinson, age 26, 1802 State Route 339, Belpre, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Atkinson was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 11 at 12:05 pm.

Jolena Ann Best, age 45, 20 Campbell Run Road, Lower Salem, for theft, a felony. Best was picked up at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 11 at 3:20 pm.

Alicia Dawn Miller, age 27, 209 Fifth Street Ext., Lowell, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Miller was picked up at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 11 at 3:36 pm.

Michael Travis Riffle, age 38, 3735 Blue Knob Road Apt. 1, Marietta, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Riffle was arrested in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 11 at 4:02 pm.

Gail Francene Lanham, age 59, Fifth Street, Parkersburg, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Lanham was arrested in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 11 at 4:56 pm.

Jason Eugene Barnes, age 34, 836 Pike Street Apt. 2, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Barnes was arrested at his residence by Lt. Hornbeck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Aug 11 at 11:42 pm.
