On 20 Aug 11 Sgt. Norman issued a citation to James R. Atkinson, age 58, 2588 Pine Run Road, Washington, WV, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for failing to stop at a red light. Sgt. Norman stopped Mr. Atkinson on State Route 60 at the intersection of State Route 530 in Adams Township.

On 20 Aug 11 a resident on Two Mile Run Road in Marietta reported at some point during the past three days a Honda ATV and a lawnmower were stolen from a storage building on her property. This case remains under investigation (707).

On 20 Aug 11 Sheila Gore, age 44, 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras, reported her son took her laptop computer to a friend’s home on 15 Aug. Despite her repeated requests, neither her son nor his friend have returned Ms. Gore’s computer. This case remains under investigation (208).

On 20 Aug 11 Sgt. Norman requested summonses for twelve year old and her fourteen year old brother to appear in Juvenile Court for being unruly. Initially, the twelve year old ran away from home but she was later joined by her brother when he stated he was leaving to search for his sister. The two were located a short while later and returned to their home.

On 20 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Schubert requested a summons for Brandon Gibbs, age 18, 827 Ridge Street, Marietta, for theft. In early June a resident on Mitchells Lane reported several individuals were visiting her home, including Mr. Gibbs, and during that time $350 was stolen from her purse. Questioned about the missing currency, Mr. Gibbs admitted taking the money from the victim’s purse and leaving the home immediately thereafter.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Aaron Alexander Darroch, age 29, 1686 Southbend Drive, Rocky River, OH, for .08 breath OVI, a misdemeanor. Darroch was arrested at Archers Fork by Officer Jonson of the US Forestry Service and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 11 at 9:00 pm.

Harry Burgett Swisher II, age 63, 845 County House Lane, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Swisher was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Aug 11 at 9:14 pm.
