On 10 Aug 11 Mary Busch, age 46, 1179 Brush Road, Marietta, reported an acquaintance whom she has not seen for a couple of years stopped by her home that afternoon. When Ms. Busch stated she needed someone to run errands for her the acquaintance offered his services and Ms. Busch gave him $500 and instructions on how to spend the cash. Ms. Busch said she briefly left the room and when she returned the acquaintance was missing, as were her prescription bottles containing Percocet and Opana. This case remains under investigation (1090).

On 10 Aug 11 Mary S. Burdette, age 24, 470 Hartline Road, Whipple, reported she was involved in a heated argument with her husband. Neither party was in fear for their safety nor did they state that any physical violence took place. Mrs. Burdette and her husband agreed to separate for the evening to avoid further problems. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Caltrider closed this case as unfounded.

On 10 Aug 11 Lorena Smith, age 33, 110 Tower Road, Little Hocking, reported her estranged husband, Adam J. Trus, age 33, 500 13th Street, Parkersburg, threatened her while he visited her home to pick up their daughter. Arguing over where to send their daughter to school, Ms. Smith said her husband commented that she was going to die and be found in a ditch. Mr. Trus admitted being involved in an argument with his wife but denied making any threatening comments. Based on his investigation, Lt. Stackpole arrested Mr. Trus for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 10 Aug 11 the New Matamoras Fire Department transported a twenty-four year old New Matamoras resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment after she threatened to hang herself from a banister with an extension cord. The victim was uninjured and voluntarily agreed to seek treatment (296).

On 10 Aug 11 Mary Francis, age 45, 636 Ninth Street, Marietta, reported she owns property at 145 Rake Road, Whipple, and recently received information from a neighbor of the property that a ten year old boy may have stolen items from a camper at that location. Ms. Francis stated the alleged suspect lives nearby and was previous asked to not enter her property. Taking inventory of the camper’s contents, Ms. Francis said she believes a pellet gun, a hunting knife a collector’s set of swords are missing. This case remains under investigation (208).

SUSPECTED ARRESTED FOR THEFT OF OVER $10,000 IN JEWELRY

Following an investigation into the theft of over $12,000 in jewelry, Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier arrested Devan W. Anderson, age 20, 637 Martin Drive, Fleming, on charges related to the theft. On 25 Jul 11 Susan Berry, 870 Rubrake Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 21 and 23 Jul that a diamond bracelet, a pearl ring with matching earrings and a black onyx ring with matching earrings were stolen from her bedroom.

A canvass of local jewelry stores and pawn shops revealed the identity of two females who Mr. Anderson solicited to sell the diamond bracelet, which was worth at least $10,000. The females stated they she sold the bracelet and other items to a jewelry store in Parkersburg for $800 and that Mr. Anderson gave them either $200 or $250 for their help. They also said that Mr. Anderson gave them a pair of onyx earrings the victim later identified as being stolen from her residence.

Anderson declined to answer any questions and was subsequently arrested on felony charges of burglary, tampering with evidence and theft. He remains incarcerated in the Washington County Jail in lieu of $55,000 bond.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Teresa Denice Tilton, age 41, 12622 State Route 60, Lowell, for .08 breath OVI, domestic violence and for violating the terms of his probation, all misdemeanors. Tilton was arrested at her residence by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 11 at 1:37 am.

Mark Joseph Tilton, age 42, 12622 State Route 60, Lowell, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Tilton was arrested at his residence by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 11 at 2:03 am.

Bill Martin Ball, age 37, 60 Silver Globe Road, Marietta, for criminal damaging, a misdemeanor. Ball was arrested on Gilman Avenue by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 11 at 5:32 am.

Christopher Benjamin Woods, age 34, 734 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Woods was arrested by Probation Officer Brockmeier at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 11 at 12:36 pm.

Michael Benjamin Brown, age 19, 111 Arborgate Drive, Marietta, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Brown was picked up at the Belmont Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 11 at 12:46 pm.

Devan Wade Anderson, age 20, 637 Martin Drive, Fleming, for burglary, theft and tampering with evidence, all felonies. Anderson was arrested on Tresch Road in Fleming by Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 11 at 2:27 pm.

Adam Joseph Trus, age 33, 500 13th Street, Parkersburg, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Trus was arrested in Little Hocking by Lt. Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 11 at 4:13 pm.

Larry Randolph Hasley, age 33, 836 ½ Third Street, Marietta, for theft, receiving stolen property and three counts of forgery, all felonies. Hasley was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 11 at 6:51 pm.
