On 8 Aug 11 Denver C. McIntire, age 62, 181 Third Street Apt. 3, Lowell, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) stole a Troy-Built self-propelled lawn mower from underneath a tarp on his driveway. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 8 Aug 11 Jimmy R. Brookover, age 48, 186 Main Street Lot 4, Lowell, reported he was involved in a minor dispute with his ex-wife. Mr. Brookover said he lives with his ex-wife and an argument erupted outside their home over his use of her mobile phone. Upset that he would not immediately return the phone, Mr. Brookover’s ex-wife swatted at him with a mop handle and later grabbed him by the hair. To avoid further problems, Mr. Brookover relinquished the phone and the two agreed to separate for the evening. Determining Mr. Brookover did not fear for his safety during the incident, Deputy Sheriff Simmons closed this case as unfounded.

On 8 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Mankins and the Dunham Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at Envirotank at 12381 State Route 7, Belpre. Envirotank employees extinguished the fire prior to the arrival of the fire department. An employee of Envirotank said the fire was likely caused by a buildup of soot in a boiler chimney. The chimney overheated and damaged trusses, roof, siding and electronic controls at the business. No foul play is suspected.

On 8 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Reeder issued a citation to Anthony P. Giovanazzo, age 27, RR 2 Box 79A, New Martinsville, WV, for driving left of center. Deputy Reeder stopped Mr. Giovanazzo after he made a sharp right turn onto Pleasants Ridge Road and nearly struck Deputy Reeder’s cruiser.

On 8 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Reeder responded to the scene of death of a fifty-four year old New Matamoras resident. Though no foul play is suspected in the man’s death, this case remains under investigation.
