On 6 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart responded
to a residence on Dalzell Road in Lower Salem after a witness
reported observing a two year old child clad only in a diaper
walking along the road. Along with a caseworker from Children’s
Services, Deputy Lockhart concluded the child escaped from a
home while his mother folded clothes in the basement. The caseworker
implemented a safety plan with the family to help avoid problems
in the future.
On 6 Aug 11 Sara F. Harris, age 18, 1175 Michaelis
Road, Marietta, reported she visited a relative at 27360 State
Route 7, Marietta, for approximately an hour beginning at 12:30
am and at some point during that time her purse was stolen from
her unlocked vehicle. Ms. Harris said her purse contained a
Coach wallet, a digital camera and various personal items. This
case remains under investigation (1104).
On 6 Aug 11 an employee at Mondo Polymers,
27262 State Route 7, Marietta, reported sometime between midnight
and 7:00 am an unknown suspect(s) stole items from three employees’
vehicles. From one vehicle the suspect(s) stole $270 and a Jeff
Gordon wallet but discarded the remaining personal items in
the wallet. From the other two vehicles said the suspect(s)
removed a total of $2 in loose change, two packs of cigarettes
and a flashlight. This case remains under investigation (500).

Thomas Brenton Wenzel, age 49, 201 Lee Avenue,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Wenzel was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Probation
Officer Farrell and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 6 Aug 11 at 12:42 am.
Sheldon Dwight Hill, age 28, 11827 State Route
555, Cutler, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Hill was arrested on Greene Street in Marietta by Probation
Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 6 Aug 11 at 1:19 am.
Helen Ruth Reed, age 45, 366 Valley View Road,
Saint Marys, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes
of travel, both misdemeanors. Reed was arrested on Third Street
by Patrolman Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Aug 11 at 4:19
Deidre Fawn Murphy, age 44, 106 Plum Street,
Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Murphy was arrested
on Muskingum Drive by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 6 Aug 11 at 10:40 pm.
