On 3 Aug 11 Gloria J. Roach, age 45, 1457 Hocking Road, Little Hocking, reported while the residents in her home slept an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence and stole $300, her driver’s license, food stamp card and three Percocet pills from her purse. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 3 Aug 11 the Newport Fire Department transported Tracie Newlen, age 37, 108 Main Street, New Matamoras, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to superficial cuts on her wrist. Ms. Newlen said she was involved in an argument with her boyfriend and she felt he was not listening to her so she retrieved a razor blade and scratched herself on both arms. Ms. Newlen stated she had not intentions of killing herself and that she believed harming herself would force her boyfriend to listen to her.

On 3 Aug 11 Deputy Sheriff Mankins was on patrol in Palmer Township when he observed the driver of a vehicle drive left of center and driving five to seven mph under the speed limit. Conducting a traffic stop near the intersection of Buchanan and Derby roads, Deputy Mankins detected an odor of alcohol on the driver, Richard R. Gage, age 62, 2950 Patten Mills Road, Stockport. Mr. Gage admitted he consumed at least six beers and performed poorly on subsequent field sobriety tests. Consequently, Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. Gage for .08 breath OVI and for driving left of center and transported him to the Washington County Jail. At the jail Mr. Gage tested .122 BAC.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

William Andrew Cool, age 28, 321 Smithson Street, Dexter City, for theft, a misdemeanor. Cool was picked up at the Noble County Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 11 at 10:50 am.

Herbert Leroy Nunn II, age 36, 10 Second Street, Vincent, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Nunn was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 11 at 1:20 pm.

Aaron Matthew Brown, age 30, 139 Frederick Street, Marietta, for breach of recognizance and for three counts of failure to appear, all misdemeanors. Brown turned himself in to Patrolman Ellenwood at the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 11 at 1:30 pm.

Richard Ranson Gage, age 62, 2950 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, for .08 breath OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Gage was arrested on Brownrigg Road by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 11 at 11:38 pm.
