On 29 Jul 11 the Reno Fire Department transported a fifty-three year old Marietta resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment after he ingested a large quantity of his prescription. The victim is expected to recover but was admitted for further observation.

On 29 Jul 11 Kelsey Dobbs, age 18, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 1B, New Matamoras, reported she involved in an argument with her live-in boyfriend Matthew Kerr, age 19, in the bedroom of their residence. Ms. Dobbs said her boyfriend blocked her from leaving the room and shoved her in the stomach with his fists. On 29 Jul 11 Lt. Rhodes and Deputy Sheriffs Anderson, Mankins and Metts investigated multiple reports of hit-skip crashes involving the driver of a white van. In the parking lot of the Wrangler Tavern the driver of the van, Sandy K. Grayson, age 45, 10765 State Route 339, Vincent, first backed into the rear driver side of a Suzuki SUV owned by Melinda S. Simms, age 50, 2409 Cleveland Avenue, Saint Albans, WV. Mr. Grayson then haphazardly entered State Route 821 and traveled to the residence of Ben Lang at 270 State Route 821, Marietta, where he attempted to turn around in the driveway. In doing so Mr. Grayson collided with the part of Mr. Lang’s home that separates the home’s two garage doors. Observing the collision, Mr. Lang phoned 911 and followed Mr. Grayson in his vehicle until he arrived at the Harmar Tavern. Initially questioned by the Marietta City Police Department outside the tavern, Mr. Grayson claimed the crash at the Whipple Tavern occurred then the driver of a vehicle backed into his van. Lt. Rhodes later administered field sobriety tests on Mr. Grayson, on which he performed poorly. In addition to being arrested for OVI, Mr. Grayson was charged with being in possession of an open container of alcohol after two open cans of Miller Lite were found in his van’s cup holders.
