On 14 Jul 11 a six year old Waterford resident
was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital after hell fell
from a side by side ATV. The victim was leaned over tying his
shoe when the ATV driver turned and the child fell onto pavement.
The child is a hemophiliac and was life-flighted to Children’s
Hospital in Columbus as a precaution. No alcohol was believed
to be involved in the incident (208).
On 14 Jul 11 an employee of Verizon Wireless
reported an unknown suspect(s) cut through a fence to gain access
to a mobile phone tower near 1522 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell.
The suspect(s) then cut ten, five foot sections of one inch
copper wire from various locations inside the fenced area. The
employee said the cost to replace the missing wire is approximately
$4,000. This case remains under investigation (805).
On 14 Jul 11 an individual fishing at the pond
at 299 Coffman Road, Marietta, reported finding a blue nylon
tackle box with the name “Preston” written inside
it. The tackle box was placed in evidence pending the release
to its owner (1293).
On 14 Jul 11 Thelma G. Seto, age 57, 1088 Ellis
Run Road, Cutler, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s)
stole the license plate from the rear of her vehicle and a bicycle
helmet from inside the vehicle. This case remains under investigation
On 14 Jul 11 David Madison, age 39, 135 Mill
Street, Waterford, reported he took several pills after he filled
his prescription for Vicodin on 8 Jul and the morning of 14
Jul he noticed all of the pills were gone. An investigation
by Lt. Stackpole and Detective Parks revealed the pills were
stolen by Mr. Madison’s ex-girlfriend who lives at his
residence. She admitted taking the pills because she said she
suffers from back pain and recently had a tooth removed. This
case will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for
Grand Jury consideration.
On 14 Jul 11 Jeffrey M. Seevers, age 48, 133
Greene Street, Newport, reported while he was showering that
evening an acquaintance removed the debit card from his wallet.
An employee at Byer’s Exxon said a woman matching the
suspect’s description attempted to withdraw cash from
an ATM at the business but was locked out because she repeatedly
entered the wrong PIN. It is not believed the suspect obtained
any money using the card. This case remains under investigation
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Joshua Quin Ford Jr., age 25, 1214 Main Street,
Zanesville, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Ford was arrested
on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jul 11 at 1:02 am.
Charles Gary Gibson, age 51, 3605 Brown Street,
Fort Wayne, IN, for a felony charge of receiving stolen property
and misdemeanor charges of driving under a suspended license
and operating a vehicle with fictitious plates. Gibson was arrested
near milepost six on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jul
11 at 2:19 am.
Devan Marshawn Worstell, age 19, 1828 Cameron
Avenue, Parkersburg, for criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor.
Worstell was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Blasko of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Jul 11 at 3:02 am.
