On 9 Jul 11 Cody Westbrook, age 20, 209 Gibbons
Road, Marietta, reported a friend picked him up in a vehicle
after inviting him to cruise back roads and smoke marijuana.
Mr. Westbrook said he exited the vehicle after the group stopped
on Stanleyville Narrows Road and Jacob Rowe, age 20, 127 Ohio
Boulevard, Marietta, confronted him with a handgun. Mr. Westbrook
stated Mr. Rowe demanded his money and that he pushed the gun
out of the way and began fighting with him. Finding a broken
pair of scissors in the backseat of the vehicle, Mr. Westbrook
said he defended himself with the instrument and either stabbed
or scratched Mr. Rowe. Mr. Westbrook subsequently punched Mr.
Rowe and knocked him to the ground, at which point another passenger
demanded his money. After her gave the individual $800, Mr.
Westbrook stated the suspects fled in the vehicle and he flagged
down a passing motorist. The driver of the vehicle, who was
later located by the Marietta City Police Department, initially
denied knowing anything about the alleged incident but later
confessed to witnessing the robbery. As a result, Deputy Caltrider
requested a warrant for Mr. Rowe for aggravated robbery. Deputy
Caltrider is attempting to identify the second suspect involved
in the incident.
On 9 Jul 11 Jeff Stewart, age 37, 2355 Barnett
Ridge Road, Fleming, reported he was away from his residence
between 10 pm on 8 Jul and 11 am on 9 Jul and at some point
during that time an unknown suspect(s) entered his home. Mr.
Stewart said the suspect(s) stole sixty inch and thirty-two
inch flat screen televisions and an Xbox. This case remains
under investigation (1293).
On 9 Jul 11 Glen E. Starcher, age 46, 21005
State Route 676, Marietta, reported he noticed that morning
that nearly half of the pills from his prescription of the pain
reliever Kadian were missing. This case remains under investigation
On 9 Jul 11 Corrections Officer McKee charged
Washington County Jail inmate Tiffany J. Hickman, age 25, 200
West Street, Belle Valley, OH, with assault. While being booked
into jail on a charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication,
Ms. Hickman was uncooperative, combative and struggled as she
was escorted to a holding cell. Once placed in the cell Ms.
Hickman took an aggressive stance and punched a Corrections
Officer in the arm.
On 9 Jul 11 Deputy Sheriff Holbert responded
to the scene of death of a fifty-five year old Lowell resident.
Though no foul play is suspected, this case remains under investigation.
The following individual
was processed into the Washington County Jail:
Tiffany Jo Hickman, age 25, 200 West Street,
Belle Valley, OH, for a felony charge of assault and for a misdemeanor
charge of disorderly conduct. Hickman was arrested on Colegate
Drive by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jul 11 at
