On 5 Jul 11 Deputy Sheriff Holbert responded to the scene of death of a seventy-six year old Waterford resident. The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

On 5 Jun 11 Robert E. Lane, age 65, 545 Rummer Road, Marietta, reported at some time during the past two or three weeks an unknown suspect(s) removed a total of seven batteries from a pay loader, a dump truck and a Mack truck from his business’ storage location near 10000 Veto Road, Belpre. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 5 Jun 11 Susan Stiers, age 31, 2357 Vickers Road, Marietta, reported she and her husband recently discovered an unknown suspect(s) obtained the debit card number for their account and used the information to make an online purchase of $339.98. This case remains under investigation (1008).

On 5 Jul 11 Deputy Sheriff Anderson issued a citation to Edward W. Whitsett, age 38, 1023 Lakeview Drive, Parkersburg, for operating a vehicle with license plates that expired on 1 Jun 11. Deputy Anderson stopped Mr. Whitsett on US 50 near State Route 339 in Belpre Township.

On 5 Jul 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to Damien Shuler, age 21, 10409 Twin Oaks Drive, Cambridge, for traveling 80 mph in a 60 mph zone and for failing to reinstate his operator’s license. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Shuler on State Route 7 near milepost one in Belpre Township.

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR TRAFFICKING IN COCAINE

Following an investigation Task Force Agents executed a search warrant at the residence of Jason B. Whittaker, age 33, at 22781 State Route 60, Beverly, on 5 Jul 11. Upon searching the residence Agents located a plastic bag containing six individual plastic bags of suspected cocaine, scales and a box of plastic baggies. The six plastic baggies contained approximately three grams of cocaine each and had a total mass of 19.06 grams.

As a result of the investigation, Mr. Whittaker was arrested for a third degree felony charge of trafficking in cocaine in an amount greater than ten grams but less than 100 grams. He remains incarcerated in the Washington County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Paula Juanita Westfall, age 45, 155 Dickens Drive, Mineral Wells, WV, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Westfall was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 11 at 8:53 am.

Michael Shawn Williams, age 34, 3635 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Williams was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gilchrist and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 11 at 12:34 pm.

Jason Bradley Whittaker, age 33, 22781 State Route 60, Beverly, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Whittaker was arrested at Marietta Memorial Hospital by Patrolman Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 11 at 11:16 pm.
