On 25 Jun 11 Calvin J. Martin, age 38, 11265 State Route 26, Marietta, reported when he arrived home from work the previous morning he noticed a number of items missing from his home. Mr. Martin subsequently received a phone call from a friend in New Matamoras who said she believed she was in possession of some of his stolen belongings. The tipster stated Kristy Cline, age 33, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 6E, New Matamoras, left the items at her home the day before and said at the time that she entered Mr. Martin’s residence to retrieve items he stole from her in the past. Deputy Sheriff Schubert located Ms. Cline during a traffic stop on 26 Jun and questioned her about the incident. Ms. Cline said she dated and briefly lived with Mr. Martin in 2008. She admitted using a key to enter Mr. Martin’s residence to gather several of her things and later stated she also took items belonging to Mr. Martin. Consequently, Deputy Schubert arrested Ms. Cline for burglary and theft and transported her to the Washington County Jail. Mr. Martin’s property was recovered and returned to him.

On 25 Jun 11 Deputy Sheriff Caltrider issued a citation to Kenneth J. Walters, age 24, 4711 Walnut Road SE Lot 11, Buckeye Lake, OH, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Caltrider stopped Mr. Walters near the intersection of State Route 821 and Highland Ridge Road in Marietta.

On 25 Jun 11 Melissa Lang, age 43, 130 Saint John Road, Marietta, reported she was assaulted by her husband during an incident three weeks earlier. Investigating the allegation, Deputy Sheriff Holbert noticed Ms. Lang had a strong odor of alcohol. Ms. Lang, who said she consumed ten beers that afternoon, was vague in her description of the alleged incident and commented several times that her husband moved out and she only wanted him to return home. At no time did Ms. Lang say she feared for her safety during the dispute which involved a struggle over a phone. Therefore, Deputy Holbert closed this case as unfounded. Two hours later Deputies responded a residence on State Route 676 after Ms. Lang reported there may be a domestic at the residence where her husband now resides. When Lt. Gherke and Deputy Schubert arrived at that location witnesses said Ms. Lang had been there but departed driving her SUV. The witnesses said Ms. Lang nearly crashed into another vehicle as she left the residence. Back at her residence, Ms. Lang denied driving anywhere in her vehicle but Lt. Gherke noticed the hood of the vehicle was warm and appeared to have been driven. Based on their observations, Lt. Gherke arrested Ms. Lang for OVI and transported her to the Washington County Jail. At the jail Ms. Lang refused a BAC test.

Burke, age 43, 140 Rainbow Cemetery Road, Lowell, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) removed a battery, battery cables and a CD player faceplate from three of his business’ trucks that were parked at 2955 Muskingum River Road, Lowell.
