On 1 Jun 11 Lt. Gherke and Deputy Sheriff Holbert were dispatched to 21640 State Route 339, Beverly, in response to a report of an intoxicated individual threatening to harm himself with a shotgun. At the scene a witness stated one of the home’s residents, Colton M. Klintworth, age 18, was depressed about his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan and made several suicidal comments. Bystanders were able to wrestle the unloaded weapon from Mr. Klintworth while he attempted to locate ammunition for it. Questioned by Deputy Holbert, Mr. Klintworth was unsteady on his feet and slurred his speech. He denied making suicidal comments but admitted handling a firearm and consuming alcohol that evening. Consequently, Deputy Holbert arrested Mr. Klintworth for underage consumption of alcohol and handling a weapon while intoxicated and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 1 Jun 11 Lt. Stackpole issued a citation to Greta F. Gibbs, age 36, 155 Star Road, Marietta, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Lt. Stackpole stopped Ms. Gibbs on State Route 7 near Veto Road in Warren Township.

On 1 Jun 11 Lt. Stackpole issued a citation to Shelby L. Duncan, age 18, 8640 Wiley Lane, Beverly, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Lt. Stackpole stopped Ms. Duncan on State Route 339 near milepost 15.5 in Waterford Township.

On 1 Jun 11 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested a summons for a sixteen year old Cutler resident to appear in Juvenile Court for being unruly. The teenager’s mother reported her daughter is not allowed to have a mobile phone because she calls a male acquaintance of whom she does not approve. The mother confiscated a mobile phone she found in her daughter’s room, sparking a dispute. A brief struggle over the phone followed, with the teenager yelling and shouting obscenities. Neither party was injured during the minor altercation.

On 1 Jun 11 an employee of Select Pipeline Services, 7994 South Pleasants Highway, Saint Marys, WV, reported sometime between 26 May and 1 Jun a gas well drill bit assembly was stolen from one the company jobsite on Sackett Run Road in Ludlow Township. The drill bit assembly is worth approximately $12,000. This case remains under investigation (208).

On 1 Jun 11 Corrections Officer Farrell charged Washington County Jail inmate Cody L. Parker, age 22, 114 Grove Street, Marietta, with assault. During lunch session that day, Mr. Parker approached inmate Steven J. McGee, age 39, 116 Grove Street, Marietta, who was seated at a table. Security footage shows Mr. Parker punching Mr. McGee in the head from behind and knocking him to the floor. Mr. McGee stood from the floor and took a fighting posture toward Mr. Parker but Corrections Officers separated the two before any further altercation occurred. Mr. McGee was not injured in the attack.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Brittany Maria Martin, age 25, 819 33rd Street, Parkersburg, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug abuse instruments and for abusing harmful intoxicants, all misdemeanors. Martin was arrested in Warren Township by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 11 at 12:39 am.

Jerry Dawayne Smith, age 24, 324 Second Street, Macksburg, for driving under a suspended license, for violating the terms of his probation and for violating the terms of a protection order, all misdemeanors. Smith was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 11 at 1:08 am.

Jennifer Irene Thorpe, age 32, 650 Mark Street, Marion, OH, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Thorpe was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 11 at 1:42 pm.

Stephen Ray Gray, age 29, 27480 State Route 7, Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Gray was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 11 at 5:10 pm.

Charity Lane Ramsey, age 32, 60 Grandview Avenue, Thornville, OH, for a felony charge of tampering with drugs and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drugs. Ramsey was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 11 at 5:51 pm.

Shane Edward Jones Sr., age 37, 60 Grandview Avenue Apt. 15, Thornville, OH, for a felony charge of tampering with drugs and misdemeanor charges of driving under a suspended license and following too closely. Jones was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 11 at 6:21 pm.

Gregory Curtis Ammell II, age 21, 745 ½ Glendale Road, Marietta, for intimidation, a misdemeanor. Ammell was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 11 at 6:50 pm.

Brandon James Payne, age 20, 523 Second Street Apt. 10, Marietta, for escape, a felony. Payne was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 11 at 6:59 pm.

Adrian Anthony Walter, age 39, 1624 Marshall Street Apt. 11, Houston, TX, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and for improper handling of a weapon in a motor vehicle, all misdemeanors. Walter was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 11 at 11:50 pm.
