On 28 May 11 the Wesley Fire Department transported Danielle R. Zinn, age 26, 6049 Emerald Lakes Drive, Medina, OH, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to a gunshot wound on her lower leg. While target shooting at a relative’s property at 860 Shinn Road, Stockport, an ejected nine millimeter shell fell behind Mrs. Zinn’s shirt. When Mrs. Zinn leaned forward to remove the hot shell from her shirt she accidentally pulled the handgun’s trigger and shot herself two inches below her left kneecap. Emergency room personnel said the wound is not life threatening and were in the process of determining whether to perform surgery here or to transfer Mrs. Zinn to a hospital near her home (597, 1293).

On 28 May 11 Carole Swain, age 68, 717 Mitchell Avenue, Beverly, reported she departed her residence at 6:30 the previous evening and when returned home at 6:00 the next morning she noticed her front door was ajar and the lock on the door was broken. Mrs. Swain inventoried her belongings and said nothing appears missing at this time. This case remains under investigation (208).

On 28 May 11 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Dustin L. McKnight, age 25, 1435 Poplar Avenue, Belpre, for speeding and for driving under a license suspended for having unpaid child support. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Mr. McKnight on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

On 28 May 11 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Amber L. Duff, age 37, 7255 Irvin Road, Athens, for traveling 71 mph in a 60 mph zone. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Ms. Duff on US 50 near State Route 339 in Belpre Township.

On 28 May 11 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Megan L. Morrison, age 22, 1211 Wyatt Lane Apt. B, Belpre, for traveling 70 mph in a 60 mph zone. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Ms. Morrison on US 50 near State Route 339 in Belpre Township.

On 28 May 11 Deputy Sheriff Schubert arrested Celena A. Hardie, age 31, 708 Front Street Apt. 19, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Visiting relatives on Pleasant Ridge Road, Ms. Hardie was drinking heavily and upset over a recent breakup with her boyfriend. At one point in the evening an argument arose and Ms. Hardie became irate, threatening and cursing at her family members. Ms. Hardie continued her belligerent behavior while Deputy Schubert interviewed witnesses in a separate room and interrupted the interviews by yelling profanities and waving her arms wildly. At the jail Ms. Hardie tested .231 BAC.

On 28 May 11 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Kevin S. Laudick, age 33, 2234 Wickliffe Road, Columbus, for traveling 69 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Laudick on State Route 7 near Bender Road in Warren Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jeremy John Nicholas, age 32, 112 Maple Street Apt. 2, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Nicholas was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 May 11 at 1:10 am.

Matthew Steven Werth, age 28, 3152 Shasta Avenue, Columbus, for OVI, speeding, driving under an FRA suspended license, unauthorized use of a vehicle and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Werth was arrested near milepost twelve on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 May 11 at 1:53 am.

Kenneth Albert Ammell, age 27, 112 Maple Street Apt. 1, Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Ammell was arrested at Marietta Memorial Hospital by Patrolman Saho of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 May 11 at 5:25 am.

Robert F. Gunderman III, age 47, 1214 Lockwood Street Apt. A, Belpre, for a felony charge of domestic violence and for a misdemeanor charge of assault. Gunderman was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 May 11 at 3:25 pm.

Louis Roe Cavillis, age 40, 205 Elm Street, Belpre, for menacing, a misdemeanor. Cavillis was arrested on Front Street by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 May 11 at 5:22 pm.

Joshua Earl Boston, age 33, 1125 46th Street, Vienna, for theft, a misdemeanor. Boston was arrested at Weber’s Grocery by Patrolman Caldwell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 May 11 at 6:44 pm.

Trent Dwight Mason, age 22, 109 Washington Street, Marietta, for OVI, abusing harmful intoxicants, failure to reinstate his operator’s license and for making an improper turn, all misdemeanors. Mason was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 May 11 at 9:07 pm.

Thomas Jordan Fletcher, age 21, 3811 Sandhurst Avenue Apt. 210, Lansing, MI, for driving under a suspended license, for violating the terms of his probation, for underage consumption of alcohol and for possession of drugs, all misdemeanors. Fletcher was arrested on Fifth Street by Patrolman Maze of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 May 11 at 11:12 pm.
