On 18 May 11 a twenty-six year old Marietta resident reported he received two threatening phone calls around 3 am that morning. The victim said he has a protection order against the suspect and he believes the threatening calls were placed by the suspect from his employer’s phone. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 18 May 11 Lt. Stackpole and the Barlow, Dunham and Little Hocking fire departments were dispatched to a fire at the residence of Dave Clark, age 47, at 2630 Oxbow Road, Belpre. The fire originated in the kitchen area and may have been caused by a skillet of oil that was left unattended. In addition to damaging the kitchen, smoke and fire damaged two other rooms in the home. No injuries were reported.

On 18 May 11 an employee Guernsey Scrap, 28087 State Route 7, Marietta, reported an individual was at the business attempting to sell items she believed were stolen from Guernsey Scrap in Caldwell. Interviewed at the business, the suspect, Dustin L. McKnight, age 25, 3905 State Route 530, Lowell, stated the scrap was from his parents’ property in Lowell. Questioned further, Mr. McKnight said he stole the sheets and rolls of steel from Morgan Mechanics at 11105 State Route 60, Lowell. Mr. McKnight stated he stole the items from Morgan Mechanics on three occasions between 5 May and 15 May. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Schubert arrested Mr. McKnight for theft and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 18 May 11 Jeffrey L. Lucas, age 55, 80 Hannah Place, Belpre, reported he and his wife departed for work at 7:30 am and when he returned home at 2 pm he noticed his fifty-two inch flat panel television. Mr. Lucas said the suspect(s) also rifled through a number of drawers but nothing else was stolen. This case remains under investigation (1293).

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR RAPE OF TWELVE YEAR OLD GIRL

On May 18, 2011, Agents with the Major Crimes Task Force and Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office received information that a male suspect, later identified as Tracy B. Bronson Jr., age 20, engaged in sexual conduct with a twelve year old female. Upon further investigation, Agents learned that the victim performed sex acts on the suspect during April 2011 at the defendant’s residence, which is located at 6949 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta. Questioned about the incident, Mr. Bronson admitted to “allowing” the victim to perform sex acts on him at his residence during the spring of 2011.

Bronson was subsequently arrested on a first degree felony charge of rape and transported to the Washington County Jail. He remains incarcerated in lieu of bond pending an appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Valerie Dawn Dunfee, age 39, 116 Lee Street, Belpre, for criminal trespassing and for criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. Dunfee was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 9:02 am.

Joseph Carl Morehouse, age 47, 19639 State Route 550, Marietta, for OVI, driving under an FRA suspended license, failure to control, failure to register and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Morehouse was arrested on State Route 550 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 12:59 pm.

Dustin Lee McKnight, age 25, 3905 State Route 530, Lowell, for theft, a felony. McKnight was arrested on State Route 60 by Deputy Sheriff Schubert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 1:38 pm.

Deane Allen Beck Jr., age 31, 734 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Beck was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gault and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 1:55 pm.

Steven Raymond Spinelli, age 22, 2084 Germaine Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and for misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Spinelli was arrested near milepost fifteen on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 2:05 pm.

William Kuhn, age 30, 28 Briarbey Lane, Fleming, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Kuhn was arrested at his residence by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 5:05 pm.

Brandon Lee Gibbs, age 18, 827 Ridge Street, Marietta, for criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor. Gibbs was arrested at Marietta Middle School by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 6:06 pm.

Tracy Bryan Bronson, age 20, 6949 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, for rape, a felony. Bronson was arrested at his residence by Detective Mayle of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 6:18 pm.

Jessica Raye Brown, age 47, Route 1 Box 622, Mount Clair, WV, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and for a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Brown was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 8:42 pm.

Jessica Leigh Shaffer, age 30, 7331 State Route 676, Waterford, for OVI, failing to obey the right of way, littering from a vehicle and child endangering, all misdemeanors. Shaffer was arrested on State Route 676 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May 11 at 9:40 pm.
