On 7 May 11 Sgt. Hornbeck and Deputy Sheriffs
Reeder and McLeish investigated a domestic dispute at 609 Dana
Road, Newport. The alleged victim, Jacey Wolfe, age 25, said
she was sitting on her husband’s lap when the two began
arguing over looking over each other’s mobile phone call
history. Mrs. Wolfe said when her husband stood from the chair
she fell to the floor and was inadvertently struck in the mouth.
Mrs. Wolfe’s husband corroborated the sequence of events
and stated he did not intentionally hit his wife. Determining
neither party feared for their safety, Sgt. Hornbeck closed
this case as unfounded.
On 7 May 11 Michael Singer, age 52, 363 Clark
Road, Cutler, reported at 2 am he heard his ex-wife shouting
from outside his residence followed by the sound of air rushing
out of a punctured tire. Mr. Singer subsequently noticed multiple
punctured tires and a scratch on his recently painted 1966 Dodge
Charger. This case remains under investigation (790).
On 7 May 11 Daniel Winstanley, age 55, 821
Masonic Park Road, Marietta, reported at some point since the
beginning of March an unknown suspect t(s) stole a Yamaha TTR90
dirt bike from a locked garage on his property. Mr. Winstanley
said the motorcycle belongs to his brother in Florida and estimates
it is worth $600. This case remains under investigation (296).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brian Robert Ritchie, age 40, 228 Pike Street
Apt. 5, Marietta, for two felony counts of domestic violence.
Ritchie was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Thomas of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 7 May 11 at 5:15 am.
Scott James Freeman, age 29, 35332 Hanson Road,
Beverly, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Freeman was arrested
in Beverly by Patrolman Maze of the Beverly Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 May 11 at
