On 25 Apr 11 Deputy Sheriff Simmons responded to the scene of death of a sixty-seven year old Lowell resident. The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

On 25 Apr 11 Corrections Officer Farrell requested summonses for Washington County Jail inmates Errich S. Schmidt, age 21, 855 Browns Road, Marietta, and Joseph A. Wentland, age 27, 20 N. Townsend Drive, Malta, for disorderly conduct by fighting. A minor scuffle was sparked by Mr. Schmidt, who dumped water on Mr. Wentland from the second floor of the dorm as he spoke on the phone on the dorm’s bottom floor. When Mr. Wentland finished his phone conversation he confronted Mr. Schmidt and a brief fight ensued.

On 25 Apr 11 Phyllis Jones, age 65, 3805 Sheets Run Drive, New Matamoras, reported starting in November 2010 she began noticing items missing from a vacant home and two storage buildings on property she owns at 3971 Sheets Run Drive. Ms. Jones said the missing items include an old icebox, a refrigerator, shelving and pieces of aluminum. This case remains under investigation (805).

The following individual was processed into the Washington County Jail:

Ciara Marie Cavallier, age 23, 806 Garfield Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Cavallier was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Apr 11 at 9:14 am.
