On 5 Apr 11 a fifty-four year old Marietta
resident reported his fifteen year old son has been living with
a relative for the past several months and now the teenager
refuses to return to live with him. This case remains under
On 5 Apr 11 Lillie B. Singer, age 51, 11827
State Route 555, Cutler, reported she has a protection order
against her husband and earlier in the morning he pulled his
vehicle briefly into her driveway. The suspect denied the allegation
and claimed Ms. Singer drove to his residence that morning and
previously poured sugar into the gas tanks of three of his vehicles.
This case remains under investigation (200).
On 5 Apr 11 Jo Anne Speece, age 68, 5380 State
Route 260, New Matamoras, reported sometime between 2 Apr and
4 Apr an unknown suspect stole a Hi Point 9 mm handgun from
her home. This case remains under investigation (296).
On 5 Apr 11 Sgt. Underwood and the Salem Fire
Department responded to a trailer fire at 3025 Tick Ridge Road,
Lower Salem. The trailer’s owner, David M. Hawkins, age
72, 1740 Payne Hill Road, Lower Salem, stated he started a fire
in the vacant trailer’s fireplace and returned to his
residence. Mr. Hawkins said hours later he observed smoke rising
from the trailer and phoned for help. Though the structure was
deemed a total loss Mr. Hawkins said there was no property of
real value in the trailer.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Edna Lynn Phillips, age 56, 1530 School House
Road, Little Hocking, for violating the terms of her probation,
a misdemeanor. Phillips was arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy
Sheriff Anderson and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 5 Apr 11 at 1:35 am.
Lance Nicholas Felton, age 19, 1308 Williamson
Avenue Apt. 4F, New Matamoras, for violating the terms of his
probation, a misdemeanor. Felton was arrested at the office
of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 5 Apr 11 at 9:00 am.
Philip Allen Motley, age 25, 169 Second Lane,
Belpre, for two felony counts of violating the terms of his
probation. Motley was arrested at the Adult Probation Office
by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 5 Apr 11 at 11:01 am.
Shane Michael Hardie, age 35, 112 Knox Street
Apt. 15, Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Hardie was
arrested by Patrolman Linscott at the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Apr 11 at
Troy Adam Doyle, age 46, 447 Stanley Street,
Chillicothe, for breaking and entering and theft, both felonies.
Doyle was picked up at the Ross County Jail by Deputy Sheriff
Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Apr
11 at 1:59 pm.
