On 18 Mar 11 Jason J. Shankland, age 30, 833 Second Street, Marietta, reported his vehicle was damaged when live-in girlfriend drove his vehicle to take her sister to retrieve her child. An argument erupted during the custody exchange and at some point an ashtray was thrown and damaged the front right fender of the vehicle. Deputy Sheriff Smeeks interviewed witnesses but was unable to determine who threw the ashtray. This case is closed pending the discovery of new information.

On 18 Mar 11 the owner of Anderson Towing, 507 West Street, Belpre, reported a neighbor contacted him and stated an unknown male subject was inside the business’ fenced impound lot. Taking inventory at the business, the owner discovered six car batteries, three starters and an alternator in an area outside the fence. Identified as a suspect, Steven W. Johnson Jr., age 34, 2209 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, admitted gathering the items from inside the lot and stated he intended to retrieve them later and sell them at a scrap yard. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested a summons for Mr. Johnson for criminal trespassing and theft.

On 18 Mar 11 the office manager at Bunn Enterprises, 135890 State Route 550, Fleming, reported when she arrived at work that morning a window at the business was broken and the front door was unlocked. The employee said the suspect(s) pried open a storage room door and stole a bank bag containing $400 in petty cash. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 18 Mar 11 Lillie Singer, age 51, 11827 State Route 555, Cutler, reported her ex-husband assaulted her while he was briefly at her residence to retrieve property. Deputy Sheriff Caltrider is attempting to locate the alleged suspect to further clarify the evening’s events. This case remains under investigation.

On 18 Mar 11 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Corey R. Hundley, age 21, 4187 Woodward Drive, Charleston, WV, for traveling 77 mph in a 60 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Hundley on US 50 near Collins Road in Belpre Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

William Edward Foreman, age 36, Marietta, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Foreman was arrested at 307 Maple Street by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 11 at 2:00 am.

Joshua Leroy Gore, age 23, 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his parole and for a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear. Gore was arrested at the office of Parole Officer Smith and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 11 at 4:24 pm.

Kristie Kay Faulk, age 23, 525 Broadway Street, Bridgeport, OH, for driving under a suspended and for not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors. Faulk was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 11 at 5:12 pm.
