On 10 Mar 11 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart was dispatched to a residence on Barrett-South Road in Vincent in response to a report that children were left in the home unattended. At the residence Deputy Lockhart found a fourteen year old babysitting his eleven year old, three year old and four month old siblings while the teenager’s parents were out on a date. Deputy Lockhart contacted the parents and they returned to the home. This case remains under investigation.

On 10 Mar 11 Deputy Sheriff Caltrider requested a summons for a fourteen year old Marietta resident to appear in Juvenile Court for being unruly. The teenager’s parents stated their son refused to help move family belongings from the home to avoid rising water and subsequently departed the residence without permission. Questioned by Deputy Caltrider, the juvenile said he was upset that his mother would not make him something to eat so he left the home to ask his grandmother to see if she would take him somewhere. The teenager later returned and assisted his parents in moving their belongings.

On 10 Mar 11 the principal at the Belpre Christian Academy, 100 First Lane, Belpre, reported when he arrived at the school that morning he noticed a filing cabinet in the school’s main classroom was pried open. The principal stated a money pouch containing funds for the day’s activities, approximately $200, was stolen from the filing cabinet. This case remains under investigation (1293).

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Jeremy M. Charlton, age 30, 1681 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, for the theft of a .22 handgun on 6 Mar 11.

Tyson J. Butcher, age 22, 16825 Joy Road, Sharpsburg, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on 7 Mar 11.

Walter E. Harrell, age 39, 277 N. Champion Avenue Apt. H, Columbus, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on 7 Mar 11.

Jeffrey A. Stewart, age 37, 2355 Barnett Ridge Road, Fleming, for domestic violence committed on 7 Mar 11.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Yvonne Lynn Colyer, age 42, 223 Greene Street Apt. 4, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Colyer was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Mar 11 at 6:22 am.

Brandon Michael Schmidt, age 20, 416 Mulberry Street, Marietta, for breach of recognizance and theft, both misdemeanors. Schmidt was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Mar 11 at 6:41 am.

Bridgett Renee Bishop, age 31, 125 Main Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Bishop was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Mar 11 at 9:11 am.
